Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there's the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You'll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full.
Deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.
An Oktoberfest Lager made especially for Brauhaus Schmitz.
Available at only two establishments in the country. This strong lager is brewed strictly for lent and traditionally permitted by the Pope as a Lenten "food." This dark reddish-brown delicacy has a delicious caramel-sweetness which is nicely balanced with roasted malts and a wonderful lingering finish of molasses. Overall a very rare and delicious Doppelbock!
This is it! The powerful, full-bodied, strong beer which is Andechs's trademark. Brewed in the traditional Triple Mash procedure and available throughout the year, not just during the "Starkbierzeit"!
Spezial Hell is pleasantly tangy with a full, round malt body that cannot fail to fascinate. The soft flavour carries a distinctive balance of sweet accents and bitter hoppiness. It concludes on equally soft malty nuances a classical festival beer in the tradition of old Bavarian brewing.
This dark Weissbier retains its aromatic character thanks to the select choice of Hallertau aroma hops and highest quality Bavarian wheat and dark barley malts.
"Schlenkerla Helles" is brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of Nürnberg. It's lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer. Its subtle smokiness without using smoke malt makes "Helles Schlenkerla Lager" a unique representative of the classic lager beer style "Bavarian Helles". Editor's note: Since this is not intended as a smoked beer, and is not billed as such, it has been classed here as a Helles, despite some samples having residual smoke character.
While for the classic "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" traditionally beech has been - and still is - used, the malt for "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is kilned with Oak wood. The resulting Schlenkerla Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in the "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops.
From the recipe by Peter Josef Früh of the family brewery, this top-fermented specialty beer features the best ingredients and is brewed according to the German Purity Law. A favorite beer of Cologne, which became one of the city's original.
100% barley malts, and plentiful Hallertau hopping make this golden Munich Heller Bock a pleasurable refreshment in spring and fall. Named after the Patron Saint of the Hunters "St. Hubertus.
Bavarian barley slow roasted, caramelized to a rich, red amber color.
A malted sweetness is noted when first sampling. This is quite decently supported by a subtle bitter touch. A full-bodied, well-rounded malt taste remains on the palate.
Unfiltered, unpasteurized, darker, and stronger Lager brewed to historic Oktoberfest specs.
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!
This meticulously refined brewing process with specially selected ingredients locally sourced in southern Germany produces this effervescent dark Weissbier of exceptional quality. If you are looking for a truly special beer experience, this classic Bavarian beer with its appealing color, caramel taste and refreshing wheat beer taste is for you!
Köstritzer Black Lager is a characterful, smooth, full-bodied dark lager. It's much more complex than a standard lager, with subtle tones of malt and chocolate. Interesting and unique, it's brewed at one of Germany's oldest breweries in Bad Köstritz, which dates back to 1543.
Traditional spontaneously fermented Belgian Lambic with raspberries added. Tart and sweet fruit flavors.
It has a light hops flavor and balances subtle bitterness with an unmistakably fruity and clove character.
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

In accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516, Warsteiner Premium Pilsener is made from four key ingredients: brewing water, malt, hops and yeast. These raw materials are put through a gentle and unique brewing process, using the most advanced technology to create 'the champagne of beers'. Warsteiner Premium Pilsner pours to a golden colour with a fine foam head. It has a mild hop aroma and a slightly malty taste.
In our golden-yellow crystal-clear wheat beer the fresh citrus flavour harmonises very well with spicy banana notes. The fine sparkling gives it a tangy and animated appearance. Throughout summer and winter, it's a prickling experience. It goes well with fish, seafood, white meat or it can be enjoyed as an aperitif. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.
Following century old recipes all malts made at the Schlenkerla brewery are dried by wood fire. While for the classic Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier traditionally beech has been and still is used, the malt for Schlenkerla Oak Smoke is kilned with oak wood. The resulting Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in Schlenkerla Oak Smoke is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% alcohol and Bernstein color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers for Christmas.
Bamberg's speciality, a dark, bottom fermented smokebeer, brewed with Original Schlenkerla Smokemalt from the Schlenkerla maltings and tapped according to old tradition directly from the gravity-fed oakwood cask in the historical brewery tavern.
Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock is unpasteurized. Fuller and richer in body than the Maerzen, it uses more malt and is matured at least one month longer (1,805 lbs. of smoked malt is swalled up in one batch [one batch= 340 cases].) It is only brewed once a year for the Urbock-celebration at the Schlenkerla tavern in Bamberg in early October.
Apostelbraeu Dinkel Bock is quite refreshing inspite of its 6.6 % alc/vol. It shows a distinct dry/fruity finish which comes completely unexpected from a "German brewery". The estery character of Rudi Hirz's "house yeast" and the unique Hallertauer Saphir/Austrian Opal hop combination [plus dry-hopped with Opal hop] harmonize very well. Its big body consisting of Pilsner malt, Rudi Hirz' own floor malted barley and Spelt provide the perfect malt sweet balance.
The First Bavarian Pale Ale was created between the three friends Stefano Cossi (formerly Thornbridge Hall Brewery, UK), Matthias Mueller (they met at famous Brewing School Weihenstephan/Germany) and Rudi Hirz. Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.
The Chimay Triple, last-born of the Abbey, is labelled "Cinq Cents" on the 750 ml bottle. Of a golden colour, the Trappist beer combines sweet and bitter in a rare balance. The beer's aroma felt in the mouth comes from the hops' perfumes: above all, they are fruity touches of Muscat grapes and raisins, even ripe apples. This traditional Belgian beer is best savoured fresh at a temperature of from 6 to 8°C.
This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore. Up until the 1940's, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created. Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!
This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.
Legend has it that Doppel Bock was first made by monks as a hearty, full-bodied drink to be consumed in the tough fasting period. This 'Bonator' is brewed at the monastery at Weissenohe in the most traditional, painstaking way, using the best ingredients. It is named for Bonifatius, a missionary who came to the monastery long after brewing began in 1050 A.D. At Weissenohe the Reinheitsgebot (the famous Bavarian beer purity law) is still observed, and the beer is made by the traditional, and painstaking, double-decoction method, which is only rarely observed in Bavaria today. Urban Winkler's brewing methods have been handed down to him from earlier generations of brew-masters at Weissenohe, and refined in accordance with the teachings of older brew-masters in the area. Franconians, a famously stubborn and uncompromising people, still support almost 300 small breweries in their tiny corner of Bavaria, and have kept the old ways even as breweries in the rest of Bavaria modernize, stream-line, and forget. No one knows why all Doppel Bocks have names with the suffix '-ator'. That's just the way it is.
A strong dark Doppelbock that's more than meets the eye. Malty-aromatic, sweet, pleasantly heavy with an intensive fragrance and strong flavor; a world known specialty just like its baroque namesake, the brilliant painter and architect Cosmas Damian Asam.

A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation.
Spice, citrus and tropical notes in the aroma, with crockery malt, more fruit and a spritzer effervescence to round out the flavor profile. Arguably the world's best triple!
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the guantlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe® Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well.
