92pts James Suckling The 2019 Riesling Quarzit is bright, pure and flinty on the stony/dusty but also charmingly fruity and very delicate picture-book nose. Round and lush on the palate, this is a charming but tensioned and grippy Riesling from Meddersheim. Due to the residual sugar, which is somewhere between medium dry and medium sweet, this is not an ascetic but tensioned and thrilling Riesling that delivers the quartzite terroir in an accessible style. The minor grip and complex acidity would be too challenging for a wine at this precise point. I am sure it will be fabulous after some years of bottle aging. To me, this is another picture-book Riesling form Harald Hexamer
The Loewen estate has slowly grown from just 1 hectare in 1803 to 15 hectares today, all planted to Riesling and most are old vines on steep slopes around the village of Liewen. This "Estate" label was formerly released as a single vineyard Kabinett from the Liewener Klostergarten and is clearly a cut above your typical estate offerings. Christopher and his father Karl-Josef keep things very natural in the winemaking process, including whole cluster press, ambient yeast fermentation in 1000L 25 year old Fuder, and bottles with minimal sulfur. An excellent Riesling whose slight sweetness is perfectly balanced by the brisk acidity. Light bodied with green apple, peach, and river stones.
This transparent, pure snapshot of Riesling’s most profound terroir greets the palate with a slight touch of residual sugar; it is then swiftly cleansed by bright acidity. The enchanting journey of concentrated fruit, varietal purity and slate minerality leaves you with a taste experience fit for the Gods.
Bright ruby red in color. Intense note of red fruits (raspberry, cherry) and hints of spice, autumn leaves and licorice. Full bodied with a generous taste, round tannins and fine terroir aromas. The finish is long and harmonious.
"Coral pink in color, this rosato offers raspberry and watermelon on the nose, with tangy, tart red fruit taking center stage on the palate. It's light in body, with a healthy vein of acidity that helps extend a sunbaked stone finish." - ALEXANDER PEARTREE
This traditional Tuscan bianco is a blend of 50% Trebbiano and 50% Malvasia with 7 days skin contact fermentation giving it the distinct orange hue and texture. Le Ragnaie is known for its elegant, terroir-driven wines that stand out in this Tuscan powerhouse category. The owner and winemaker, Riccardo Campinoti, acquired the property in 2002 and now farms 15.5 ha. Making complex, traditional wines from Sangiovese Grosso, Riccardo's wines exhibit elegance and finesse by farming some of the highest altitude vineyards in Montalcino.
Precise citrus fruit pairs with a pleasantly provocative saltiness and an intense tannin that brings to mind artichokes. The 2019 Sitta Maceration from Attis is an impressive white wine that exudes a variety of wild herbs such as mint, sage, nettle, rosemary, as well as iodine and spicy notes.
An "orange wine" made with Riesling? It sounds wild, but this wine, from a small family operation in Healdsburg, is more food-friendly than way-out. With a little patience, and a lot of enological experience, some experiments just go right, very right. Winemaker's notes: "The Riesling was fermented on the skins and then remained on the skins for ten days of extended maceration. This gave the wine heightened color (orange tones) as well as more of the unique spiciness that Riesling is known for. We put it through full Malo-lactic fermentation which gives it increased balance against the intensity of the extracted skin tannins. Early flavor profiles of the Riesling are Quince, Pomello, tart apple, and all spice. It continues to evolve with bottle aging. Our Riesling has great food pairing capabilities, especially with spicy dishes, where most wines have limitations."
91 Points. The Wine Advocate “The 2015 EA Coteaux Champenois Blanc is a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunieur and Chardonnay that was aged in large foudre for one year before the unfined and unfiltered bottling. The bouquet is subtle, round and elegant, with good ripeness, some yeasty-creamy bâtonnage notes as well as discreet toasty and refreshing lemon aromas. Lean, fresh and mineral on the palate, this is a light, rather lean but not meager, pretty intense and structured and remarkably persistent finish. Bone dry and with very fine tannins, this is an excellent white with fish and any kind of seafood. Tasted July 2018. Drink 2019 thru 2026.
Copinet’s cherry colored 2015 EA Coteaux Champenois Rouge offers a fine, elegant, fruity, toasty and after a while, also floral bouquet that indicates freshness and finesse in equal measure. Beautiful dark cherry and blackthorn intermix with hints of violet and licorice as well as toast and dark chocolate, but everything is discreet and fresh. Smooth and round but dry, fresh and well-structured on the palate, this is full-bodied, intense and very elegant Pinot Noir sourced in a lieu-dit named La Croix Maître Anne. Picked by hand and strictly selected, the wine was aged for 12 months in new 300-liter oak barrels. Showing good, stimulating mineral freshness and fine tannin structure on the finish, this is a remarkably good red wine from the Champagne region..
Following a more hands-off winemaking philosophy, Napa Valley’s boutique winery Brick & Mortar uses organically-grown grapes and wild yeast to produce its vintage sparkling rosé (100% Pinot Noir). And one of the world’s top chefs, Kyle Connaughton of Sonoma’s SingleThread, is a fan. Released two months ago, this age-worthy, copper-hued wine bears a label depicting bricks, representing the foundation upon which Brick & Mortar and its later releases will be built. Tasting Notes: Citrus, cherry, ginger
From the Winery: Our 2020 Vin Pétillant is a unique sparkling rosé made from 52% Pinot Noir and 48% Chardonnay. A delicious aperitif or brunch bubbly, and a great match for smoked salmon, oysters or fresh cheeses. Fine bubbles intertwine flavors of ripe pear and red apple with strawberries and cream. The nose is delicate and floral, with notes of cherry blossom, rose petal and orange zest. The wine is rich on the palate with a mouthwatering freshness and vivaciously creamy bubble equal to many fully sparkling wines.
Medium-bodied, dry. With 80% of the blend dominated by red grapes, Emile Paris Reserve Personelle is surprisingly fresh and delicate with lots of toasted brioche, red autumn apples, lemon curd, and white flowers. Amazing Value.
Hidden in the rolling hills of France's Champagne southeasternregion in the Cote des Bar, nestled in the quiet little town of Baroville, lays a family tradition that has been thriving since 1847. For five generations, the members of that family, the Fourrier, have dedicated their lives to quality, pleasure, but mostly, legacy. The Fourrier tradition has been centered on a culture of respect at all the levels of production, from grape to customer. All the production processes of Champagne are made on-site within 18 acres of vines. It is of prime importance, to keep the family tradition alive . The Fourrier know-how and commitment to the excellence of their product have earned them several awards throughout the years from wine professionals and oenologists as well as the famous Conoisseur magazine.
Finesse, elegance, freshness and balance. Since its first vintage, in 1988, it has always been made without the addition of sugar. A vintage cava of high quality, this wine represents a tremendous value for the price
91 pts Tanzer - Pale orange. Fresh, delicate aromas of strawberry and raspberry are complicated by a yeasty nuance. Floral- and mineral-accented, juicy fruit is explosive. Silky and focused on the lingering finish. I like this Champagne's light touch. A 50/50 mix of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Deep bronze colour. Surely lots of oak here? Rich on the nose. Almost sweet, which makes the Extra Brut all the more remarkable. Pretty full-on mousse. This is almost more like a pale red burgundy that happens to have bubbles. It has a suggestion of Pinot Gris perfume about it too. Quite a statement! And not a silly price for the distinctive character it offers. A labour of love?
Pale yellow. Vibrant citrus fruit and mineral aromas. Tangy, focused and stony on the palate, offering intense lemon/lime and quince flavors and a deeper honeydew quality that comes up with air. Finishes with resonating mineral and lemon zest notes, very good energy and a touch of anise. More lithe and feminine than last year's release
The 2015 Chardonnay dances with notes of pear blossom and honeysuckle, spun sugar and biscuits with clover honey. The entry on the palate is lush and full, with blood orange and vibrant kumquat, while the finish linger with hints of exotic Ceylon tea. A little history - Robert Brittan left Stags’ Leap Winery in Napa after 16 years as Winemaker and Estate Manager to fulfill his dream of making Pinot Noir and Syrah from unique sites in cooler climates. Robert and his wife, Helen, moved up to Oregon in 2002 and started the winery soon after. To this day they are making Pinot and Chardonnay that rival some of the great Burgundies.
Not dessert sweet, but certainly "cocktail sweet" This classic aperitif style Moscato d'Asti small Pale straw-yellow. Pleasant nose of fresh grape and sweet flowers. Soft palate framed by lush mousse with long-lasting, energetic aromas, lightness and delicacy. Smooth finish. A beautifully crafted indulgence for sharing.
Domaine de la Garnière is a traditional farm located in the vineyards of Nantes. They have been owner-harvesters of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine in the Loire Valley for three generations. Winery note: "A dry white wine with a limpid color and pale yellow hues. The nose is fine and complex with the character of the terroir. Full and balanced, the long finish reveals its minerality and fresh aromas."
This 100% Musque clone Sauvignon Blanc bottling hails from Griva Vineyard in Monterey's Arroyo Seco appellation. With open exposure to the cold, deep waters of Monterey Bay, the property is found in an ancient, dried river channel and features meager topsoil comprised of granite cobblestone beds. Replete with acidity, the bouquet displays aromas of grapefruit, melon, lemon blossom and minerals. 330 cases produced.
Weighty but with firm acidity, there are hints of apple, melon and bees’ wax. Immensely rich yet dry, this wine provides extraordinary depth at an unbeatable price.
In the traditional school of wine-making in Meursault, few are given more respect than Domaine Michelot. Their ability to develop the bouquet on his ripening Meursault is amazing and the Sous-la-Velle is a particularly good example. Light golden color with green and gold reflections. Concentrated notes of classic white Burgundy such as yellow apple, white peach, lemon blossoms, lime zest over intricate notes of hazelnut crème, white mushroom, honey, white tea and vanilla. The near full-bodied palate deliver a round, slightly oily texture with flavors of beautifully concentrated yellow apple, lemon zest and white tea.
Just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, Carneros is kept cool by bay breezes and thick fog, and has long been famous for cool-climate Chardonnay. Big and rich, featuring a plush texture with concentrated pear tart, apple pastry and dried apricot flavors. Viscous midpalate, with savory snap to the finish, which delivers minerally and toasty notes.
A soft and delicate mouth coating/laminated acidity fills out the palate and gently conveys the fermented spoils of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay. The wine shows a citrus edge, with lime splice and finger lime sweetness. It also offers enticing teacake sponge flavors varietally laced with finely grated lemon zest
Incredibly appetizing and well balanced with finesse from limestone soils and length from the clay. Aromas of citrus and minerality lead to a brilliant refreshing finish. Serve with a first course risotto or a last course mature cheese platter.
Looking for tart, savory, mineral-driven Sancerre? We gotcha. This little gem just found it’s way onto the menu, and is absolutely shocking our Sauvy-B customers. A masterful blend made primarily from the famed sites Les Déserts and Le Chêne Marchand, it’s rockstar wine!
A fantastic, accessible white Burgundy - aromas of lime blossom and lemon zest give way to lemon, apple and subtle oak spice flavors in this racy white. Balanced and precise, with a lingering, mineral- and spice-tinged aftertaste. Today, Alexandra Pascal is the winemaker and manager. She is an extremely precise winemaker with a very pure, pretty, delicate and classic style. Farming is organic practices and fermentations are all from native yeast.

A spectacularly elegant and supple Napa Chardonnay made by one of the most respected Chardonnay houses in Napa. Ample acidity, silky texture, and epic balance are always on display with this incredible chard year-after-year. Full bodied, creamy and smooth, with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with lemons, citrus, green apples, pineapples, limes, light earth, light wood, spices and black pepper. Long finish with tangy limes. This is a fabulous Chardonnay from Spring Mountain District in Napa Valley. Nicely balanced and tangy. Showing nice complexity now, and is enjoyable by itself. Tasty and delicious.
90 Pt. Wine Enthusist Intense pear drop candy and notes of fresh green pear on the nose carry seamlessly onto the palate where they are met with spritz and rounded lemon freshness. This is easy drinking, light and bright with a dry, peppery finish.
A fragrant and somewhat delicate burg, this wine has layers of lemon, vanilla, and expressive minerality. A winner for sure.
Immediately attractive as a sipper, this fully dinner-balanced bottling is also surprisingly complex. The aromas and the generous flavors that follow are a deftly tooled medley of honeydew melon, golden delicious applesauce, peach, cantaloupe, lemon, orange blossom, white rose, brioche, white pepper, chamomile, coriander seed and clove: all poised above "riverstone" mineral hints. A great domestic chenin.
92 pts Vinous Pale yellow. High-pitched, mineral-accented orange zest, melon and violet aromas show impressive delineation and energy. Silky and nervy on entry, then fleshier in the middle, offering vivid citrus and pit fruit and honeysuckle flavors complemented by a subtle fennel quality. Finishes with vibrant mineral cut and powerful thrust, leaving a lovely floral note behind. (Vinous)
From Winery Vineyard Spear is one of the newest and most compelling sites in the Sta. Rita Hills. Planted in 2014 and farmed organically by Ofer Shepher, its northern border and steep north facing slopes hug Highway 246. Varied elevation of up to 900 feet, and soils of both marine sedimentary clay loam and white sand make it a rarity in the appellation. Tasting Pale gold and light-medium bodied. Aromas of pineapple, lemon zest, jasmine, and vanilla bean are supported by flavors of lemon meringue and toasted brioche. While aromatically floral and fruit-focused, it is linear and acid-driven on the palate, balancing California fruit purity and Old world tension. 95pts - Decanter and their Gold Medal. Yannick Cadiou is a very experienced man. He’s been at Domaine Laroche, one of the most consistent producers in Chablis, up until very recently. He was their Vineyard manager but arrived in Chablis back in 1984. His family is from the Loire. He now has 2 hectares of vines, so very little, with 2018 being his first vintage. Everything is organically farmed. The wines, just like the man, are modest in appearance: lower alcohol and no cru level vineyards. But once tasted, they are wines full of life, with a mouth-filling texture. Glorious examples of their region, made by someone who cares about the ground they are made on. A very comforting discovery and a great reminder of what made Chablis so popular in the first place.
If this wine were from Sancerre, it would be 2x the price! Fresh, dry citrus notes accompanied by subtle herbaceousness give this white its tremendous value. On the nose, classic lemon-lime, yellow grapefruit, and just a hint of gooseberry; on the palate, rewarding and mouthwatering acidity keeps you coming for another sip.
Exceptional dark, deep Syrah not to be missed. 90+ points
Sourced from the superb Bussia cru, this is aged for 48 months in large, 45-50HL French oak botti (think Bruno Giacosa). Showing a darker, deeper ruby hue than the similarly sourced Barolos, the Bussia terroir shines through in spades with dark, ripe cherry, sous bois, steely minerality and hints of truffle and mushroom. This is a big, broad shouldered wine packed with power and muscle. In the mouth its elegance takes center stage as succulent, rich fruit intertwines with magnificently balanced acidity and ripe, sweet tannin. Stunning in every dimension.
A light, but structured Rosso, non fruit elements dominate Opens with aromas of strawberry and raspberry before leading to complex notes of balsamic, eucalyptus, rose and white pepper. The palate mirrors the aroma with fine tannins and a long yet fresh finish.
94pts - "Bright and loaded with an earthy finesse, this offers alluring scents of wild berry, pressed violet, new leather, aromatic herb and a balsamic note. The ultra-refined palate doles out juicy red cherry, cranberry and star anise set against fresh acidity and firm, polished tannins. Drink 2019–2030." --Wine Enthusiast

Rated 89 by Wine Enthusiast Rose, forest-floor, wild-berry, botanical-herb and damp earth aromas lift out of the glass. The tight linear palate offers sour cherry, orange zest and licorice alongside chalky tannins.
The 2012 Pinot Noir is full of promise, needing ample time to open, it reveals bright freshly macerated cherries, carnation, and dried provencal herbs. Savory notes step forward in the generous mid-palate offering notes of dried sage, lilac, and faint cardamom. Baking spices, Swedish fish, and sour cherry sit on the silky and lengthy finish. Wine Advocate WA87-89 From the same source, the 2012 Pinot Noir (500 cases produced) is much lighter and slightly fluid compared to the more concentrated 2011. Consume it over the next several years.
A lush Cote-Rotie with a stunning nose of blackberry and red ripe strawberries. Secondary notes of forest floor, mushrooms, pepper and with a meaty finish. Palate: lush and with such a finesse. One can clearly taste the 2016 vintage here. Powerful but with great elegance. Very good longevity. Verdict: prime example of northern Rhone. So lush and delicious. Could drink forever. So complex and with many layers.
Luscious and inviting, with aromas of bing cherry, cola, and orange blossom, this deep ruby wine delights with flavors of bing cherry and plum. Soft tannins support a lush mouthfeel that will keep you coming back for more. Winemaker Notes: The Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is always a fan favorite. When you look at the three single-vineyard Pinot Noirs we produce, they all bring something different to the table. The Bucher brings lush fruits and lots of earthy notes. The Starscape Vineyard brings the very easy drinking qualities of red fruits and soft tannins. Hallberg brings structure to the wine as well as darker fruits and Asian spices. When we create a barrel selection from these vineyards the result is a complete wine with several layers and flavor profiles. This is our best representation of the Russian River Valley.
"...creamy texture and firm long tannins that frame the intense aromas of cassis, coffee and dusty rose petals.."--BH
The Prevostini family have been producing wine on the terraced slopes of Valtellina since the mid-1940s. Bright ruby red in color with moderate transparency. From the Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile vineyards, one bottle per plant, it ferments in wood and ages in large and small oak barrels for 18 months to then refine at least 6 months in the bottle. 2010 was an incredible vintage. After a difficult and “extended” winter, and a spring with a complicated health pressures on the plant, the evolution was a positive recovery following a subpar blossoming. However, a fresh and cloudy September seemed to have compromised the phenolic concentration, but finished with a magnificent outburst in the last days of the month, expressing power and elegance in this Vino Nobile.
According to an article in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2018, Monterey County is "a coastal getaway that serves as an escape from the daily grind, and as a happy place for those who identify with sea otters as their spirit animals". While that sentiment is beautiful, one must not forget that Monterey County has become increasingly recognized for its balanced, nuanced wines. Fruit flavors, structure and minerality all exhibit themselves so that no single element is deemed more important than another. Pick up a bottle of this gorgeous Pinot Noir and see for yourself.
With nearly a decade to mellow out, this classic Brunello becomes more ravishing by the day, showing dried figs, candied cherries, hazelnuts, and sun-baked leather. In the past 20 years, only seven vintages in this heralded wine region have received praise. 2012 was one of those years, earning the title of "outstanding" by the regulatory body of the region, the Consorzio Brunello di Montalcino.
VINOUS Score:92 Dark violet. Mineral- and spice-accented aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, lavender and baking spices are complemented by suggestions of vanilla and licorice. Focused and energetic on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that show fine clarity and building sweetness. 96pts A Pinot with structure, body, and extreme finesse - cherry, pomegranate, plums, tea leaves, and baking spices. From the winery: Above the town of Freestone, Hawk Hill Vineyard is perched on a steep, Goldridge soil covered slope just a few miles from the Pacific. Shaped by the coastal climate, this low yielding vineyard is farmed by the Yarak family. The two decades old vines work late into the fall to ripen and develop detailed flavors in its tiny berries. Limpid ruby color. As usual, there is a ton of detail in the aromas at Hawk Hill. An overlay of reductive coffee bean comes out first, then briary red fruit, rose petal, tea leaf, citrus peel, and flint all lift readily from the glass. This site at the end of the coastal opening coming from Bodega grows remarkable fruit that develops into a refined and elegant wine, whose pleasing texture coats the palate with flavor. Drink through 2030

Robert Partker 93 Deep ruby red in color In the nose, aromas of small fruits (strawberry, blackberry) and flowers (violet). It will develop more complex aromas of leather, truffle and game when matured for a few years. In the mouth, it is a full-bodied and powerful wine, with a good structure and voluptuous tannins.
Pascal Clement's philosophy is minimalist, low-intervention, and focuses on small-batch winemaking. The care and attention to detail each barrel receives borders on coddling. This Grand Cru from the Corton-Renardes offers a focus and purity that should be held as an example of what great wine can and should be. Spicy and refined with a silky texture. This is one to drink on a crisp, almost overcast, autumn evening.
Wine Spectator 94 points Resulting from several parcels representing 1.90 ha, one of these is gently sloped to an altitude of 250 m, in ground of rather deep silt on clay, with vines from 35 to 55 years old. The other part, 25 years old, comes from a parcel on the top of the slope (300 with 325m), which is steeply sloping, on humus-bearing black soil, gravelo-stony, very calcareous. The bottom is him also calcareous and stony. Vinified separately, the wines resulting from these 2 parcels are assembled just before the bottling, after a breeding on dregs in 50% of new barrels. Vosne Romanée is the flower of the domaine. Scents of cherry and rose, this wine becomes complex with age, with a nose of underwood, decaying leaves and mushrooms. Its tannins are discrete and consistent, but always elegant. It improves from 8 to 15 years depending on your preferences. At the table... In the nose clean violets and cherries, in the mouth soft tannins. This is a wine with a good body, a complex wine. This wine goes best with light meals: light and delicate meat, fish like codfish or sea bass.

Stunning right out of the gate but will also age beautifully for years to come.
Reedy aromas of mulchy red plum set up a palate with heavy tannins. Plum, tomato and red berry flavors finish shallow and with earthy overtones.

The complex, intensely fresh bouquet opens on toasty notes, enhanced by powerful black fruit aromas. The wine is all-enveloping and characterized by an elegant, powerful, tight structure and silky, concentrated tannins. It evolves towards an impressively long finish, revealing attractive oaky notes. Magnificent Belgrave, very Saint-Julien in style. Chateau Belgrave was originally a highly reputed hunting pavilion during the reign of Louis XV, the expansion of the vineyards was particularly influenced by the Coutanceau family, whose name was first adopted for the estate’s wines during the classification of Bordeaux wines carried out by Guillaume Lawton in 1815. The “Bellegrave” designation first appeared in 1845, when Bruno Devès, a negociant in Bordeaux, remodelled the estate, favoring vine growing on the finest gravel terroirs. He built residences, tank rooms and wineries, and constructed the existing residence on the site of the original hunting pavilion. The wine was classified as a 5th growth in 1855, still bearing the name of Coutanceau, whilst the “Belgrave” name was only to be attributed at the beginning of the 20th century by Marcel Alibert, founder of the Syndicate of Crus Classés, and owner of the estate for almost 30 years. The link between the wine and hunting explains the ferret that features on the packaging, and also the name “Diane de Belgrave” given to its second wine.

Loaded with flavors of ripe red berries, citrus rind, and baking spice, this well-integrated lightly oaked wine is layered with a long-lasting finish Partially fermented with stems, it blends around 70% Tempranillo from Rioja Alta and 30% Garnacha sourced from Cárdenas in the Najerilla Valley and Tudelilla, a high-altitude area in Rioja Oriental.

Forward and inviting, this wine is intensely perfumed and chock full of sweet stone fruit and citrus on the palate.
From the lush, green, rolling hills of Portugal comes this satisfying Vinho Verde. Notes of green apples, lime and grapefruit, with a dash of white pepper and cool minerality make it is a crisp, very enjoyable wine. Being light in alcohol at 9.5% makes it perfect for any daytime occasion.
This is dangerously easy to drink. Light on the pallet, light on fruit and perfectly dry.
From the roots to the bottle, Eco Terreno is dedicated to creating estate wines that nurture relationships to our land, each other, and the celebration that follows. Our team is driven by a vision of the end result, which happens to be celebratory, involving relationships and wine. As we witness the vital connections in biodynamic farming, we are humbled by the creative and supportive relationships of nature. The end results in truly expressive wines created by bold Alexander Valley fruit grown in a healthy environment. In addition, we strive to nurture our planet and its inhabitants by committing to being part of the solution, as opposed to part of the problem, and hope to inspire others to do the same. We are confident that small steps create greater strides, and are grateful to share our journey and our wines with you. We believe that in order to become successful grape growers and winemakers, we must first create a healthy native ecosystem for our vineyards. In fact, we are so passionate about being dedicated caretakers of the land that we named ourselves Eco Terreno, which translates in Spanish to “land ecology” and in Italian to “of the land."
