This game is not the easiest to pick up, however, it seems that every table I have taught this to has at some point looked at me and gone, “This is great” and it is. There are many different ways to win, different things to invest in and they all are viable. A fantastic two player game that gives you plenty to think about without being overwhelming.
Man do we love Astro Trash. If you are looking for something that gets the adrenaline going then this is the game for you. A Spaceship exploded and rained trash down on everyone’s planet. Roll dice to get trash off your planet and throw it on other players. It is always everyone’s turn so go as fast as you can.
Catch the Moon might be Snakes & Lattes favorite game. A dexterity game where one adds perilously placed ladders in making a fantastic and abstract structure. This game challenges the mind just as much as the body in this beautiful game.
In Codenames you work as two opposing teams of spies. Your goal? To get your teammates to correctly guess all of the secret words for your team first. However, do not get too ahead of yourself, there is a hidden assassin who could take out the whole team with a wrong guess! This game is a beautiful blend of both cooperation and competition for friends and families alike.
Detective club makes everyone a detective looking to find one person amongst the group who is lying to everyone and that person doesn’t want to be found. And the method of the hunt is done through the playing of beautifully illustrated cards. A phenomenal game, the likes of Dixit and Mysterium but also with the searching aspects of Chameleon or Secret Hitler.
Dixit boasts an incredible unique system that is so unlike any other. When it's your turn, choose a card and give a clue to the other players. If they all guess which card you played: you get no points. If none of them guess it: you get no points. So it creates this goldilocks effect of, “I want some of you to guess it, but not all of you.
It’s dog walking time in the park. Oh, wait! A rabbit passes by, and all the dogs escape their owners to run after him, getting their leashes all tangled up. Quick! Find the end of the leash corresponding to the dog that was chosen at the beginning of the round in Dog Rush, pull it from the messy entanglement, and win a treat for your furry friend!
Evil Upheaval is a competitive cutthroat strategy board game for 2-5 players that insists you work with your fellow villains to complete schemes, then pits you against one another as only one of you can be accepted into the League of Evil. With two different win conditions you need to keep a close eye on your fellow villains. Changing locations, managing your resources, and using your powers to devastating effect is just as important as making sure the League recognizes your accomplishments. So if your evil schemes aren't enough to get their attention, you might have to do something really drastic-like build your own secret weapon and take Captain Mallet out once and for-all.
A simple game at its core, if you draw an exploding kitten card and cannot defuse it then you’re out. The last player standing wins. Every other card in the deck is designed to help keep you from drawing those exploding kittens cards but once a card is used it is out of the game, so our tools will eventually run out, but the kittens won’t! A fun silly game with a little strategy for the whole family.
A fast placed, high energy game of blurting out as quickly as you can. The incorrect blurting will result in collecting the cards you do not want. A flurry of colors and colorful language shall resonate from this game in what makes this game exciting and lively.
Ghost Blitz is the Snakes & Lattes classic. A fast pace and an easy ruleset will have you on your feet in minutes but the reliance on your reflexes and fast decision making skills will have this game making several appearances at your table.
Bringing in the new age of party games, Just One is a seriously clever game. Supporting up to eight players, Just One has one player trying to guess a word, and they only get one chance to get it right. To aid them everyone else will write them a one word clue, however, if a player writes the same clue as someone else then both instances of the word are erased.
I love Love Letter! Simple to get learn, small enough to fit in your pocket, and loads of fun! This game features a small deck of cards, on your turn draw one and then play one. Knock everyone else out to win the round. First to four or five rounds (depending on player count) wins the game.
The kids vs grown-ups trivia game where the grown-ups assume to know more than the kids, but is this true? Kids team up and challenge the grown-ups as to what they know about kids' things. The grown-ups get to test how smart the kids are. The team that gets to the other side of the board first wins and knows best! Sounds easy - but be aware of the special spaces that may help you forward more quickly… or set you back!
Kill the Unicorns is chaos and strategy beautifully merged. Players are competing unicorn hunters trying to outwit their fellows to get to their prey. A mix of the funniest game you've ever played and a thought-provoking strategy game that can be played at any level.
Mansions of Madness: Second Edition is a fully co-operative, app-driven board game of horror and mystery for one to five players that takes place in the same universe as Eldritch Horror and Elder Sign. Let the immersive app guide you through the veiled streets of Innsmouth and the haunted corridors of Arkham's cursed mansions as you search for answers and respite. Eight brave investigators stand ready to confront four scenarios of fear and mystery, collecting weapons, tools, and information, solving complex puzzles, and fighting monsters, insanity, and death. Open the door and step inside these hair-raising Mansions of Madness: Second Edition. It will take more than just survival to conquer the evils terrorizing this town.
Match Madness is a fast paced dexterity puzzle game. Race against your opponents to make patterns that match the card. Good for players who want to solve the puzzle, and good for players who just want to play with the blocks!
One Key is different. Focusing on communication, players try to eliminate cards from a set of 11. There is one card they are trying not to eliminate though. If they do, everyone loses. To lead them, one player will be giving a series of clues guiding them towards the card they cannot eliminate. The game does say it has an app, you do not need it.
Pandemic: While you might be a little “been there done that” in terms of pandemics. The game Pandemic is one of the best co-op games probably of all time and has inspired dozens of other games. Your goal: save the world from four diseases breaking out. Work together and plan carefully as this is a game you can play forever.
The game of deceit and lying to your friends' faces in order to have your team come out on top. Playing 5-10, this game will have you on the floor in tears from both laughter and a new found distrust of your friends. Disclaimer: we are not responsible for any broken friendships.
Skull & Roses is the quintessence of bluffing, a game in which everything is played in the players' heads. Each player plays a face-down card, then each player in turn adds one more card – until someone feels safe enough to state that he can turn a number of cards face up and get only roses. Other players can then overbid him, saying they can turn even more cards face up. The highest bidder must then turn that number of cards face up, starting with his own. If he shows only roses, he wins; if he reveals a skull, he loses, placing one of his cards out of play. Two successful challenges wins the game. Skull & Roses is not a game of luck; it's a game of poker face and meeting eyes.
Smallworld: If you like the idea of Risk but just don’t like… playing Risk then Smallworld is a great alternative. Every player will get an army and invade into the land, claim as much land as you can but when they have reached their peak than you abandon them, get a new army and charge at your enemies again. All armies in this game have special abilities making each different and unique.
Splendor is a game designed to leave you wanting a little more, to always want you to play again. Collect gems to buy properties, which in turn will make it easier to buy bigger and better cards. I call it extreme couponing: the game. It's a game of making all of your investments work for you, and right when you feel you are about to hit terminal velocity, someone wins.
Ticket to Ride is one of the best introductions into the wonderful world of strategy games for kids and adults alike, so hop aboard for a lovely adventure. With the perfect mix of thought and cut throat competition, 2-5 players battle it out in order to complete the most train routes possible, the longer your route the more points you earn. But there is no risk without reward, failure to do so means subtracting those points.
If you have played Ticket to Ride, I recommend that you play the Europe version. Mechanically the same as Ticket to Ride but with a couple additions such as ferries and tunnels making travel slightly more difficult. Train stations can be deployed to help you make things easier. A classic style game perfect for families and friends.
Codenames Duet has a new take on the fantastic game of Codenames. This alteration has made it perfect for two players. Codemasters send each other clues guiding their teammate towards the legion of spies hiding amongst ordinary folk, each syp only known by their single codename. But beware, for assassins are after you, so hasty communication might result in a sudden loss.
In Ark Nova, you will plan and design a modern, scientifically managed zoo. With the ultimate goal of owning the most successful zoological establishment, you will build enclosures, accommodate animals, and support conservation projects all over the world. Specialists and unique buildings will help you in achieving this goal.
The original raunchy game, one player plays a prompt and then everyone answers the prompt. Inappropriate to an extreme but your group will have a fantastic time with this incredibly funny game.

The march of humankind’s progress threatens the survival of many species. It's up to you and your team to save them! Work with your fellow conservationists to save tigers and sea otters from extinction. Influence the UN to save the animals and stop environmental destruction. If four UN ambassadors vote yes on the resolution then the players win. But until the vote takes place, players need to keep the destruction at bay, and keep the animals alive!
No Thanks! is a card game designed to be as simple as it is engaging. The rules are simple. Each turn, players have two options: play one of their chips to avoid picking up the current face-up card pick up the face-up card (along with any chips that have already been played on that card) and turn over the next card However, the choices aren't so easy as players compete to have the lowest score at the end of the game. The deck of cards is numbered from 3 to 35, with each card counting for a number of points equal to its face value. Runs of two or more cards only count as the lowest value in the run - but nine cards are removed from the deck before starting, so be careful looking for connectors. Each chip is worth -1 point, but they can be even more valuable by allowing you to avoid drawing that unwanted card.
Paranormal Detectives is a deduction party game. One player takes the role of a Ghost. All other players work as Paranormal Detectives and need to discover how the victim died. Using paranormal abilities they will communicate with the Ghost, asking open questions about the details of the crime. The Ghost answers in a variety of ghostly ways - by arranging a hangman’s knot, playing chosen tarot cards, creating a word puzzle on a talking board, drawing by holding the hand of a detective and many more!
Red Panda is a great light game to play with a group. Throw down cards quickly, take risks to impress the judges with your martial arts skill. Card counting can come into play just a little but for the most part this game comes down to a test-your-luck.
In more detail, in Wobble King you use a wooden stick to try to retrieve at least one silver nugget from underneath the game board, after which you place the silver nugget(s) on the round spaces at the edge of the game board. If the game boards tilts so that at least one edge touches the table or the lion tips over, the player must take a tomato tile.
