Beignets (ben-YAY) were brought to Louisiana by the Acadians. These were fried fritters, sometimes filled with fruit. Ours are prepared in the tradition of Café Du Monde, and are filled with Happiness.
How do you improve a Classic New Orleans beignet? We add 2 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, to 2 Beignets, plenty of Whipped Cream, and dust it all with Powdered Sugar. Enough to share, but you might not want to!
