This Cuvée Rosè is one of the pride and joys of our winery. It is the result of years of work and research, it combines the characteristics wine (fruity flavours, flowery notes and elegance of Glera) a structure and a typical persistence of Raboso. The grape varieties, combined using an original technique pioneered by our enologist, are Glera grapes from the hills 80% and Raboso 20%.
From this vineyard, an intense ruby red wine, with purplish glints. A lively nose with scents of cherry and macerated red fruits, sometimes slightly almondy on the palate. The Dolcetto from our Madonna Como vineyard is distinguished by low acidity and a pleasant almond aftertaste. It is suted to moderate ageing, which enhances its harmony and complexity.
The Chianti Rufina is a historical name of Tuscany. Initially named Pomino, it was recognized with the famous edict of the Grand Duke of Toscani Cosmimo the III de’Medici in 1716, to protect the areas of wine production. The area of production of Chianti Rufina is north-east of the city of Florence, close to the Tuscan-Romagnan Appenins and the municipalities where it is possible to produce Chianti Rufina are Pontassieve, Rufina, Londa, Pelago and Dicomano. Differently than the Classical Chianti, the climate is cooler, thanks to the altitude of at least 400 meters and temperature range is greater, being close to the mountains and not in the middle of the hills. The Chianti Rufina in 1967 is recognized as a wine of controlled denomination DOC and then in 1984 as a wine of denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin DOCG. Today it represents the smallest denomination of Chianti with about 750 hectares of vineyard.
Colour: ruby red, dense and compact. Perfume: big intensity and persistence, ethereal, fruity with hints of cherries and dried prunes, dried flowers, sweet spiced. Flavour: full bodied and determinate smooth, counterpoint of velvety tannins.
It is the intriguing freshness of the flower par excellence, the rose, which with its wealth of meanings related to rebirth, strength, love, but also to the variety and purity, has inspired the production of Ro'si. The wine is the result of a project that lasted two years, from the winemak-ing in rosè of Pinot Noir grapes obtained through the saignée technique (in this case twenty-four hours in contact with the skins, followed by fermentation at controlled temperature). Ro'si has a pale pink color, bright and consistent. On the nose it releases sensations of wild strawber-ry in jelly, watermelon, then rose and aromatic herbs. In the mouth it is elegant, soft and juicy, fresh and savory, refreshing and persistent on fruity and floral tones
