Order restaurant delivery or pickup with ChatGPT or Claude

BringMeThat has a public MCP server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client, say what you want, and the assistant finds a restaurant, reads the menu, and hands you a checkout link. You pay on bringmethat.com. No API key.

Start an order

Prefer the website? Enter your address in the search bar above, or start from the homepage. The same menus and prices are on both.

What the assistant can do

The server exposes four tools. It does not take a card number.

  1. search_restaurants — restaurants that deliver to, or offer pickup near, a ZIP, a city and state, or a street address. You can add a cuisine or a dish, and say delivery or pickup.
  2. get_menu — sections, items, options, and the prices charged on bringmethat.com.
  3. create_checkout_link — a link that opens checkout with the cart filled in. You review the total and pay on that page.
  4. get_order_status — the status of an order, using the order number and the checkout email.

Endpoint: https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp. Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP. Registry name: com.bringmethat/bringmethat (MCP Registry). Field-level inputs and outputs are on the MCP developer docs.

Example prompts

Order a large pepperoni from a pizza place near 60614 for pickup.

Find Thai restaurants that deliver to 233 S Wacker Dr, Chicago, and show me the pad thai.

What is the status of my order? The number is on the receipt and the email is the one I used at checkout.

Confirm the restaurant, the items, and the address before you open the checkout link. If online ordering is closed, the assistant should say so instead of sending you to pay. An order placed when the team is not on shift may be canceled after 20 minutes if it is still unplaced. The card hold is released.

What you pay

Checkout uses the same charges as the website:

  • A 10% markup on the item total. Premium is not charged this markup.
  • The restaurant's own service fee: its taxonomy fee, or that restaurant's own amount when one is set. Partner restaurants have no service fee. There is no flat service fee. Premium is not charged the service fee.
  • Tax.
  • A $7 delivery fee, or $0 for pickup, unless a Habitat or MealMe delivery quote replaces it. A MealMe order uses the quote's delivery, service, and small-order fees instead of $7.
  • An optional tip. A MealMe order does not add a separate tip.

BringMeThat Premium is $9.95 per month or $96 per year. It waives the markup and the service fee. Premium does not waive delivery, tax, or tip.

The card is authorized for that total plus $15 when the total is over $30, otherwise plus 45%. Only the final amount is charged. If the restaurant cannot take the order, you are not charged and the card hold is released.

Set up Claude

Claude calls this a custom connector. The same connector works on claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cowork, and the mobile apps, because the connection is saved on your Claude account. Free accounts can add one custom connector. Steps below follow Anthropic's custom connector guide and Add a connector that isn't in the directory. The dialog layout varies: some accounts show one screen, and some show two steps.

Free, Pro, Max, and Ultra

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector. If the control says Add instead, hover over Custom and select Web.
  3. Name it BringMeThat.
  4. Paste the server URL https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp and continue.
  5. When Claude asks how people connect, choose No sign-in. BringMeThat does not use an API key. Leave request headers empty.
  6. Click Add.
  7. In a chat, click the + button, then Connectors, and turn BringMeThat on.

Team and Enterprise

  1. An Owner, or an Enterprise role that can manage the organization's libraries, opens Organization settings > Connectors.
  2. Click Add. Hover over Custom and select Web. If you only see Custom, choose it, and choose Web if Claude then asks for the type.
  3. Name it BringMeThat, paste https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp, and continue.
  4. Choose No sign-in. Do not add an OAuth client or request headers.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Each person then opens Customize > Connectors, finds the connector (it is usually labeled Custom), and clicks Connect.
  7. Turn it on for a chat from the + button, then Connectors.

Claude Desktop

Use the custom connector above while you are signed in. Claude Desktop picks it up from your account. Anthropic documents claude_desktop_config.json as the file for a local MCP server on your computer. A remote connector is not added by putting this URL in that file.

An organization that deploys servers to every Claude Desktop can put BringMeThat in managedMcpServers. Claude Desktop reads transport, not type. From the Claude Desktop configuration reference:

{
  "name": "bringmethat",
  "transport": "http",
  "url": "https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp"
}

Set up ChatGPT

On the ChatGPT website, add the server from Plugins. OpenAI's current help article says you do not turn Developer mode on first. You review a risk warning instead. These steps follow Connecting custom MCP servers in ChatGPT and Connect and test your plugin.

  1. Go to Plugins.
  2. Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter the name BringMeThat. A description is optional.
  4. Under Connection, paste https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp.
  5. Set authentication to No authentication. BringMeThat does not use a sign-in or an API key.
  6. Check I understand and want to continue.
  7. Select Create as a plugin, then review the tools ChatGPT found.
  8. Install the plugin. Start a new chat, type @, and select BringMeThat.

Full MCP support, including actions that create or change something, is documented for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise or Edu on the web. Pro accounts can connect a custom MCP server for read and fetch tools. The phone app cannot add a custom server. On a Business workspace, only admins and owners can add one. On Enterprise or Edu, an admin grants the Create plugins with MCPs permission, and only admins and owners can publish the plugin for the workspace.

If your account still shows the older screen from that same article, the path is Workspace settings or Settings, then Apps, then Create. Enter the URL, choose no authentication, select Scan Tools, then Create. The draft is labeled Dev until an admin publishes it.

Any other MCP client

Point the client at https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. Do not send an API key. The snippets below are the shapes each product documents.

Cursor

Save this as ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json inside one project, then restart Cursor. Cursor's MCP docs use a url and no type field for a remote server.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "bringmethat": {
      "url": "https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Claude Code

From a terminal, Claude Code's MCP docs add a remote server with:

claude mcp add --transport http bringmethat https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp

A project .mcp.json needs type. Claude Code treats a url without type as a local process and skips it.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "bringmethat": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

In .vscode/mcp.json, VS Code uses a servers object. A portable .mcp.json uses mcpServers instead. Both need type set to http. See the VS Code MCP configuration reference. You can also run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette and choose HTTP.

{
  "servers": {
    "bringmethat": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Questions

Do I need an API key to connect?

No. The server at https://mcp.bringmethat.com/mcp does not use an API key or a sign-in. You pay on bringmethat.com when you check out.

Will ChatGPT or Claude charge my card?

No. The assistant must not ask for payment details. It returns a checkout link that opens bringmethat.com with the cart filled in. You review the total and pay on that page.

What can the assistant do?

It can search restaurants for a ZIP, city, or street address, read the menu and the prices charged on bringmethat.com, create a checkout link with the items and options you chose, and look up an order with the order number and the checkout email.

What do I pay?

The item total, a 10% markup, the restaurant's own service fee (none for partner restaurants; there is no flat service fee), tax, a $7 delivery fee or $0 for pickup unless a Habitat or MealMe quote replaces it, and an optional tip. A MealMe order uses that quote's delivery, service, and small-order fees instead of $7, and does not add a separate tip.

What does Premium change?

Premium is $9.95 per month or $96 per year. It waives the markup and the service fee. It does not waive delivery, tax, or tip.

What if the restaurant cannot take the order?

You are not charged, and the card hold is released. The card is authorized for the total plus $15 when the total is over $30, otherwise plus 45%. Only the final amount is charged.

Which assistants can connect?

Any MCP client that can call a remote Streamable HTTP server. Claude, including Claude Desktop, uses a custom connector. ChatGPT adds the server from Plugins on the web. Cursor, Claude Code, and VS Code use a config file. The registry name is com.bringmethat/bringmethat.

Can I order pickup?

Yes. Say pickup or delivery in the prompt. Pickup is $0 unless a live quote replaces the fee. Delivery is $7 unless a Habitat or MealMe quote replaces it. Availability depends on the restaurant.

Order on the site

The assistant builds the cart. You still pay here, with the same fees as any other BringMeThat order.
