Nancy Silverton - Los Angeles, CA

Nancy’s handmade pistachio gelato is one of the most popular desserts at her Mozza restaurants. Pistachio gelato is quintessentially Italian, and our version is quintessentially Nancy Silverton. With a beautiful and savory pistachio butter swirl throughout, Nancy brings the fragrant, intense and natural nutty essence to the forefront of this traditional flavor.

This flavor takes inspiration from one of Italy’s favorite after dinner pick-me-ups, the affogato, where the best gelato is “drowned” with the best quality espresso, resulting in caffeinated perfection. Featuring Nancy’s favorite Italian espresso beans and loaded with delicate dark chocolate shavings, this gelato will equally delight coffee lovers and chocolate lovers with its intense mocha flavor.

Originating in the Piedmont region and known as gianduia in Italy, the combination of chocolate and hazelnuts perfectly illustrates how the sum is most definitely greater than the parts. Lush hazelnut butter gives Nancy’s decadent milk chocolate gelato an even richer profile and creates a deliriously silky smooth texture, highlighted by crunchy roasted hazelnut pieces.

A beloved 100-year-old family recipe served “à la mode” was the inspiration for this delectable flavor. A rich custard-based gelato is layered throughout with chewy pieces of cinnamon and clove-spiced whiskey cake crafted with apples, hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, plumped raisins, and, of course, just a hint of rye whiskey.

Frutti di Bosco or “fruits of the forest” is the staple mixed berry flavor at gelaterias across Italy. Nancy brings a modern twist to this old favorite by blending tart, ultra-creamy Greek yogurt with the ripest sweet raspberries, blueberries and blackberries for a delicious new spin on a beloved Old World flavor.

With this unique gelato flavor, Nancy transforms and transcends one of Italy’s favorite desserts – zabaglione, a traditional Italian egg custard, sweetened with pure cane sugar and flavored with Marsala wine. Her frozen version of this classic is highlighted with a tangy citrus caramel swirl, creating a contemporary yet timeless flavor.

Nancy’s sweet and salty take on this classic flavor is irresistible.

Our Butterscotch Budino gelato is unbelievably decadent and swirled with sumptuous caramel infused with Mediterranean sea salt and just a hint of rosemary.

Surprisingly rich and creamy while still tart and sweet, it is a spoonful of sunshine.

Bourbon vanilla beans from Madagascar are the source of the complex and buttery, true vanilla flavor in Nancy’s Bourbon Vanilla Bean Gelato.

Slow-roasted, caramelized bananas are artfully paired with a hint of smoky bourbon, just subtle enough for all ages to enjoy.

Intensely flavorful Meyer lemons bring a tangy intensity to this creamy gelato, which is enriched with chunks of traditional Italian vanilla torrone (soft nougat candy with almonds).

dark and sweet, yet slightly tart Amarena cherries and traditional crisp and chewy Amaretti macaroons.
