Plzen in the Czech Republic was literally born to make beer. When King Wenceslas II of Bohemia founded the city in 1295, he granted its 260 households the right to make beer. For hundreds of years, this worked great. Yet as might be expect with this many home brewers, quality varied over time. It was easy to get beer but not so easy to get good beer. In 1838, several of the more enthusiastic brewers in town declared 36 barrels undrinkable and dumped them out in front of the town hall. The Bavarian brewers have been masters in their trade for centuries and therefore also brew excellent pils beers. Indeed it was a Bavarian master brewer that brewed the first beer according to the pilsner method in the town of Pilsen! The glimmering, light-yellow Ayinger Bairisch Pils has the fragrance of aromatic hops from the “Hallertau” region of Bavaria (only these are used in the Ayinger beer specialties!). The beer is highly fermented and therefore smooth on the initial taste sensation, but also mild and sparkling in body. We all know how wonderful pistachios are. Pistacia vera (genus/species) have been used in culinary applications for thousands of years. For a much shorter period, innovative brewers have employed this tantalizing drupe (that’s right, technically not a nut) to add a luscious character to many styles of beer. Our delicate cream ale really lets the pistachio flavor shine through as the star. The use of Caravienne malt adds a touch more body than some other cream ales along with a pale golden hue. In 2010, we released the first-ever Bourbon County Stout variants and our Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout has been a fan favorite ever since. For the first time since 2017, we brought back a coffee variant this year in partnership with our friends and neighbors Intelligentsia Coffee. Intelligentsia relies on Burundi for some of the cleanest, sweetest coffees in the world that ultimately complement the quality and tasting notes of Bourbon County Stout. The specific coffee blend combined with our Imperial Stout is called Turihamwe, which means “together”, and is a perfect tribute to all the hands that go into making it – from the female coffee farmers in Burundi that produced the blend, to our friends at Intelligentsia, the first brand we worked with on a variant back in 2010. The result of this “togetherness” is another exceptional coffee variant featuring rich chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavors that will appeal to coffee drinkers and beer lovers alike.

Little Whaleboat Islands (made up of Little Whaleboat, Nate and Tuck) are a cluster of 3 small islands and ledges in Casco Bay, a vital link in the chain of protected islands conserved by Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Protection of these islands provides sanctuary to a range of wildlife including seals, seabirds, shorebirds, and wading birds, while preserving a unique place off the coast of Maine for future generations to experience.

This beer starts with literally truckloads of oats & wheat for a full body, then it’s liberally dry-hopped to deliver juicy tropical notes of citrus, mango and pineapple. But the real star is the 4 types of Oats: 1. Oat Milk to amplify the haze and mouthfeel, 2. Malted Oats to provide cloudiness & body, 3. Rolled Oats to create a silky mouthfeel, 4. For years, brewers at Goose Island have brainstormed ways to incorporate figs in Bourbon County Stout, but faced a daunting task due to their subtle flavor. After fresh thinking from members of the Goose Island E-commerce team, Melissa Alleguez and Ryan Hubona crafted a recipe inspired by Melissa’s childhood memories of stealing fig cookies out of her grandma’s cookie jar during her summers on Lake Michigan. And thus, the fig cookie and graham cracker-inspired Sir Isaac’s Stout was created. Highlighting the dried fried profiles extracted from the bourbon in the barrels, our brewers used Black Mission figs (10,000 pounds of them, to be specific) to create this variant resulting in characteristics of dried fruit, honey, molasses, and citrus, all reminiscent of the classic fig cookie sold on shelves today.

The First release in Old Nation’s “New Orthodox” IPA series, M-43 is designed to accentuate the deep and complex character from the combination of Calypso, Simcoe, Citra and Amarillo hops. Citrus and Tropical notes of Pineapple, Mango and Grapefruit come through in the huge, yet surprisingly delicate aroma. The flavor backs these aromas with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Hop bitterness is not particularly intense, which leads to a very drinkable, New England IPA even non-IPA fans love. The Haze is not from yeast, but rather from an interplay of lipids from the malted oat and oils and acids which naturally occur in the hand selected Dry hops. This beer is a perfect interplay between top grade malt and hops, MI water and brewing technique which cannot be faked. Hops aren’t cheap, but M-43 is worth every penny!

In early 2014, Tony Gwynn’s team approached AleSmith to create a distinctive beer for the baseball legend. A meeting was called at the Gwynn household, which included a sampling of AleSmith beers to identify Tony’s preferences. Inspired by the continual hopping process we invented with 90 Minute IPA, 60 Minute builds on that one-of-a-kind process and flavor, crafting a solid gold hit that’s found its own identity. Brewed using a boatload of intense Northwest hops, we boil this continually hopped IPA for a full 60 minutes, adding more than 60 hop additions continuously to create a bold and timeless flavor.

The Gose style of beer originates from Leipzig, Germany but now we make it in Bridgeport. Ruby's Tears has a low hop bitterness and a complementary spice from the use of ground coriander seeds, with a slick salinity from the addition of lime sea salt.

Thirty years after crafting the very first bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout, we’ve learned that to have the best beer, you start with the best ingredients. Barrels are such an important ingredient, and we continue to use only the best our friends on the bourbon trail have to offer. 2022 Original Bourbon County Brand Stout is aged in a mix of freshly emptied bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill and Wild Turkey distilleries. Barrel-aged for an average of 12 months, the Original Bourbon County Stout boasts deeply developed flavors of fudge, vanilla and caramel with a rich, decadent mouthfeel.

Native to Tampa, Florida, Jai Alai IPA is a bold, citrusy, and balanced India Pale Ale that involves six different hop varietals used generously in a 7.5% ABV beer. Anniversary Bourbon County Stout is aged 2 years in Weller 12 Year barrels and is a special variant this year to celebrate Goose Island’s 10-year tradition of releasing Bourbon County Stout on Black Friday. The Weller brand is one of the most universally loved collections in all of bourbon, with Weller 12 Year being one of the hardest to get and most sought after. Our Original Bourbon County Stout is aged in 4-5 year old barrels for one year, so the added age of these Weller barrels, paired with an extra year of the beer in the barrel, adds stronger barrel flavors and notes of dried dark fruit.

Even if you aren’t as tough as Bad Elmer, you can still drink with him. This porter is a medium-bodied beer, brewed with lots of roasted malt, giving it flavors of coffee, liquorice, and chocolate. In early 2014, Tony Gwynn’s team approached AleSmith to create a distinctive beer for the baseball legend. Our American Sour series, In The Flesh strives to provide drinkable fruit sours that offers the perfect balance between sweet and tart.

A clean, dry saison spiced with orange and lemon peel, then blended with fresh peaches, yum! It opens with citrus rind and peach aromas, dries out in the center, and leaves a subtle peach note on the palate at the finish

Dark brown with copper tones, strong malt and hop nose, rich complex malt flavor with plenty of zest and character, slightly bitter and dry hop finish and aftertaste, a lovely double bock with lots of gusto.

This devilishly smooth golden strong clocks in at 8.5% but drinks like 6.0%. Aroma and flavor of ripe pear balanced with white pepper. Effervescence from high carbonation lightens up the rich Czech pils malt backbone. Dæmon (pronounced DAY-mun) is a little obtuse. First off it's traditional to give this style of beer a devilish name - like Duvel/devil. But nerds also know this as a program that runs on it's own doing all kinds of stuff. This easy drinking farmhouse ale is an homage to one of our favorite beers from our friends at The Commons Brewery. Brewed with Pilsner, Wheat, Vienna, and Oats, lightly hopped with Goldings and Fuggles, and fermented with a classic farmhouse ale yeast. It's an everyday drinking beer, and one of our favorites!

A series of Imperial Sour Ales highlighting different fruits in every batch. Oats and lactose are added for body and mouthfeel, and a massive dose of fruit provides huge aroma and flavor. Tart enough to make you pucker, then draw you back in for another sip.

We have perfected the Marz haze with Marz Beer. Our O.G. Marz hazy Double India Pale Ale with a stripped-down name as simple and tasty as the can it comes in. This is our reformulated hazy 8% Double IPA that is double dry-hopped with Citra, Sabro, and Idaho 7 hops. It’s Beer. Drink it.

Give it a flip! Orange Velour is an ode to one of our favorite brews: Allagash White. For our Witbier, we used a ton of unmalted wheat for a nice creamy body. We spiced it with freshly ground Indian Coriander and Whole Organic Orange Wheels. Finally, we fermented with a classic Belgian Wit strain. With it’s well balanced spice aroma and pallet of lush orange, citrus, and spice, it’s no wonder it’s a staff favorite!

Notes: Over the craze? We thought not. So we brewed Overhaze. It can be described with all the adjectives relevant to your interests: cloudy, juicy, turbid, milky, dense and of course hazy. Enjoy the flavors of pineapple and grapefruit juices. Hopped with Idaho 7, Amarillo, Citra and Grungheist.

Singing to Plants, our latest, New England Style, Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale, brewed to inspire you to start singing songs to your friends, your family, and your plants. We dry hopped this IPA twice with heavy doses of Zappa hops which gives an ultra tropical stone fruit OJ vibe that harmonizes perfectly with Amarillo, Mosaic, and El Dorado to amplify all those citrusy, mango, fruit notes. And yes, we said Zappa hops.

Tropical Freak is the latest fruited sour in our Freak beer series. We wanted to channel those beach day vibes so we packed this golden ale with loads of mango and strawberry alongside our house lacto culture to set you up for some nice cabana time. The beer reminds of us of fresh mangos followed up by a strawberry smoothie while falling asleep in the hammock on your own personal oasis.

The “Haze Craze” is not a fad… New England IPAs are here to stay nationwide. And thank goodness they are. Our Elevator to Nowhere (you’ll get the name when you stop by the tap room) is loaded up on the back end with luscious amounts of Simcoe, El Dorado, and Idaho 7 hops, giving this elevator a smooth hop flavored ride without flooring you with bitterness.

The ESB (Extra Special Bitter) is a staple in the pub culture in England. A traditional style, the English Sporting Beer has a nice malt backbone that balances well with earthy, herbal, and slightly fruity English hops. This beer is about putting our differences from 1776 and 1812 behind us, and hoisting pints with your mates.
