This classic expression of Friulian Sauvignon Blanc comes from the north-facing hills of the Sottomonte estate in Buttrio in the Friuli Colli Orientali D.O.C. area. The soils feature the characteristic "ponca": alternating marl and sandstone layers. A cool fermentation preserves the aromas typical of this vine variety, resulting in a fresh and crisp white with scents of citrus fruit, pepper and tomato leaves. It hs light to the palate, but full of flavor, with a nicely mineral, persistent aftertaste. Recommended with light starters, delicate first courses, but also tasty pasta and risotto dishes (with asparagus, etc.). Excellent with fish in general. Serve chilled.

The finish includes notes of black pepper and sage, adding an earth complexity that will age gracefully. Pairs well with Shelburne Farms clothbound cheddar with fig jam and salumi.

100% Centesimino. Ruby red color and beautiful transparency. Hints of compact and ripe dark fruits such as currants, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries as well as referring to a ripe dog rose jam, blackberry pesto and cooked fruit. White pepper, cinnamon and star anise on the finish. Well balanced between nose and mouth, on the mouth the acidity is accentuated with an astringent and youthful but not impetuous tannin. The flavor is present but not invasive thanks to the tannins, embellishing the sip. In the center of the mouth there are black pepper and ripe fruit, crunchy acidity and tannins that tempt you to drink.
