If you would like to try this at home, you can buy used barrels online at www.TuthillTown.com for under $100.00. Choose a size that would fit for you. They come in 1 Liter, 2 Liters and up to 5 Liters. The basic recipe is 2 parts whiskey to 1 part sweet vermouth. Once you decide how big a batch you are making, you can figure out how much bitters to use by multiplying the number of bottles used by 0.46 ounces. You can pick from either of the bottles listed above to create your own recipe. We recommend 25% rye to bourbon.
