Frank Cornelissen is a Garagiste and cult wine hero. His wines are coveted, nearly impossible to find in any quantity and we are extremely fortunate to be able to serve his bottlings—as very few ever make it to a wine list. His style aligns with our tastes and his wines represent the apex of organic, natural wine making. His pure Nerello Mascalese comes from his cru in Contrada Monte Colla. It is an extremely steep vineyard, beautifully exposed to sun and wind and directly in front of Mount Etna. The soil here is a sandy clay and the oldvines were planted in 1946. These grapes reach the pinnacle of complexity. Frank calls it his “Hermitage” of Etna.
