Taste the adventure that is Australia. Aboriginal legend has it that the rollicking laugh of the Kalbarri's resident Kookaburra bird signals the sky spirits to light the great fire of the sun and extinguish it at night. Kalbarri new South Eastern Australian wines feature popular varietals like Chardonnay & Shiraz with an approachable, fruit-driven, vibrant style.
Rich layers of apricot, peach, almond and lemon drop are seamlessly integrated with yeasty and floral notes, highlighted by vibrant acidity. This balanced and complex wine is beautiful now but will continue to unfurl over the next several years.
Laguna Winery Russian River Chardonnay shows lots of orange and lemon zest character with buttery shortbread notes and plenty of toasty oak.
Aromas of honeysuckle, lemon and green apple follow through to the palate, and are balanced by minerality characteristics. The mid-palate is full body, yet fresh due to the lively acidity of the wine. A balanced wine that is a true expression of cool climate Chardonnay.
The 2011 Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc has bright aromas of Meyer lemon and key lime balanced, and made more complex, by notes of passionfruit, lychee, honeysuckle and fresh herbs. The wine is round on the palate with mouth-watering acidity and a light, refreshing finish.
The Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc 2012 is intensely aromatic and complex on the nose displaying multi-layered characters of fresh basil, mint and coriander with subtle notes of mandarin peel. A mouth-watering yet smoothly integrated palate reveals notes of passion fruit, papaya and a strong textural component.
Classic flinty gooseberry, grapefruit and elderflower aromas, with hints of blackcurrant bud. Delightfully fresh and ripe, zesty and moreish, with fine mineral purity and fruit intensity. Concentrated and rounded on the palate, with crunchy Granny Smith apples, underlying mineral depth and perfect steely acidity to balance, finishing very long
For over 50 years, Cave de Turckheim has been operating from the pretty village of Turckheim, situated to the north west of Colmar. Widely regarded as one of the best co-operatives in the world, Cave de Turckheim has established itself as a quality-focused producer. Made with carefully selected grapes from superior plots, this is a rich, ripe and rounded, although still dry, wine. Pale golden yellow with floral and spice aromas, very textural with a long, slightly smoky finish. Perfectly complements exotic flavours along with fish, chicken or vegetable dish, particularly if you are cooking with Thai or Asian spices, ginger or chilli.
The wine is somewhat of an anomaly -estate Picpoul as the lion's share of the wines from this AOC are produced in the cooperatives. The wine shows surprising complexity with notes of spring flowers and a streak of minerality that provide a beautiful framework. Because the wine finishes with such clean and bracing acidity, the rich mid-palate of melon and stone fruit is a delightful surprise. This charming wine begs for warm & sunny days, shellfish & seafood.
Straw colored with green highlights. Delicate aromas with hints of pear, floral. Dry and full-bodied, discrete aromatic persistence, and a pleasant aftertaste. Perfect for poached or boiled clams, mussels, squid, octopus and grilled fish.
The nose of this wine is very aromatic with a pronounced bouquet of floral and tropical notes followed by orange peel, honeydew melon and pineapple. It was served a tad bit too warm and it seemed a bit tart on the palate, but it was rather crisp with medium (+) acidity and it had a prolonged finish
Very sweet but crisp not syrupy. Good by itself or with food
This has purity written all over it, with crisp clean, apple and white peach fruits flavours running alongside a lovely creamy, soft bite to the finish. Just delicious.
The fruit for these wines comes from vineyard parcels that are adjacent to the top sites: Klosterberg, Turmberg and Gräfenberg. The character of this Riesling, like all Robert Weil Rieslings, is defined largely by these mineral-rich soils. The idea behind this estate wine is to produce a full-bodied dry Riesling that shows the class and power of the Rheingau region, but is more affordable than the ultra-classy single-vineyard wines.
An original rosé with a very pale pink colour plus grey and whitish tints. The bouquet reveals delightful red berry scents. A slight sparkle on the palate gives the wine all its freshness and brings out its fruit to the full. The elegant finish is pleasantly fresh and mineral. Grenache is the king of grape varieties when it comes to making light, racy, fruity rosés in contemporary style. Grenache reveals all its suppleness and cherry aromas. Its fig and sometimes cocoa flavors, plus its rounded sensations on the palate, make it one of the great varieties of the South of France.
Winemaker's Notes Straw color with golden highlights. Very fresh aromas of pears and apples on a depth of citrus fruit that reveals a pleasant viviacity. Delicious in the mouth with fresh, clean flavors and mineral notes that awaken the taste buds. Perfect with any type of aperitif, this wine is an ideal partner for seafood and fish, as well as salads, rice dishes with fish, cottage cheese, etc.
Absolutely outrageous quality and variety expression. It has exceptional texture and floral qualities, with sweet tropical fruit and good balance. This is a viognier drinkers dream

The Wahluke Slope is nestled above the Columbia River in south-central Washington. With one of the warmest and driest climates in Washington state and sandy loam soil in the vineyards, the terroir in this historical region is perfect for creating big, bold wines with outstanding structure. Seven Falls Cabernet Sauvignon has intense fruit flavor, a delicate nose and beautiful color.
Balius Red exhibits a gorgeous purple core with dark ruby reflections. The nose is layered with macerated red berries, blackberry coulis, clove, anise, and a hint of sweet tobacco. The medium to full-bodied palate is filled with dark red and black fruits, cocoa powder, and a touch of spice cake, and it shoes off its gorgeous concentration in the 30+ second finish.
Wine Spectator top 100!!! Aromas of black cherries, blackberries and dusty rose petals are complemented by a hint of cedar. Layers of dark fruits, mixed wild berries and dark chocolate are married with vibrant hints of herbs and spices.
Rober Parker 90 points. Dark ruby/purple in color, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon shows notes of blueberries, spring flowers and raspberries. This is decidedly mouth material. There is plenty of flavor, personality and character in this wine. I think this is the first time I have tasted a product from this producer. Production was 650 cases.
"This dark ruby colored Russian River Pinot Noir offers intense blueberry and raspberry aromas with hints of cedar, earthy leather, sweet vanilla oak, and spicy cinnamon, followed by a softly elegant palate that achieves a perfect balance of fresh fruit, acidity, and soft tannins. A medium-bodied beauty which shows the elegance and quality of the Russian River AVA, this is a very easy to drink wine with a medium to long fruity finish." Amando De Santiago, Winemaker
This fruit-driven Pinot Noir has abundant spicy berry and red fruit notes, as well as refreshing acidity. The 2012 growing season offered fantastic growing conditions. We were able to pick exactly when we wanted to, resulting in pristine, perfectly developed fruit with great balance and acidity. It was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels and gently handled to preserve the delicate nuances of the Pinot Noir. This wine begins with a nose that is both vibrant and alluring, with lovely red fruit aromas of raspberry and cherry, as well as layers of currant, rose petal, anise, nutmeg and vanilla. Strawberry and cranberry flavors glide across a silky palate, with bright acidity adding poise and dimension, as well as a mouthwatering freshness that makes this wine beautifully drinkable in its youth.
Top 100 Wine. Wine Spectator Emeritus wines are evolved with softened edges and supple tannins, yet retain their youthful vibrancy. The aromatics are clean and airy with the brightness of ripe fruit or the fragrance of freshly cut flowers.
Montagu Wines' Pinot is a single vineyard selection grown in the celebrated Bacigalupi Vineyard of famed Russian River Valley. This Pinot is aged in French oak barrels and has a lush fruit taste balanced by rich earthy undertones. The Bacigalupis have farmed the Russian River for over fifty years and were instrumental in California's success at the famed Paris Tasting in 1976.
This wine has a deep red color with some redbrick tinges. It presents a spicy nose with mature fruit and delicate smoky touches. Carmenere is a close cousin to Merlot! In fact, it was mistaken as a merlot for years in Chile. To the mouth it is smooth and intense, with a touch of black cherries, plums, red berries and nutmeg. Its chocolate finish comes from being aged in French oak. -
Deep ruby color. Aromas of berry banana custard, pickle, and smoky praline follow through on a soft entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium body with tart berry and melon notes. Finishes with earthy, powdery tannins.
Cetamura is the name of an Etruscan settlement on the Badia a Coltibuono property. This wine was conceived with the intention of creating a young, pleasant wine, perfect for every day. With this objective in mind, we select the best Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes from various sub-zones of Chianti to express the typical freshness and accessibility of these varieties. The wine is a bright, intense red color with the essence of cherries and ripe wild berries in the nose. A soft, balanced, full-flavored wine with good structure. Well-balanced acidity accompanied by a long clean finish.
Ruby red in color with enticing aromas of cherries, long-stem strawberries, pomegranate juice and red grapefruit rind; this wine is silky on the palate with notes of Bing cherries, ripe nectarines and hints of Mediterranean aromatic herbs. Meant to enjoy now or age up to 10 years, this wine is very versatile and pairs well with flavorful cuisine.
Aromas of dark fruit lead into a palate ripe with blackberry, black raspberry, cassis, raspberry, cherry, and vanilla flavors. This lush, balanced wine is ready to enjoy now but elegant enough to cellar for years to come.
This is our most southern vineyard and is not very vigorous due to the cool microclimate. Bud break happens early, but then we don't end up picking until mid-October. However, despite this cool microclimate, this is not a timid wine and often is mistaken for a Cabernet. It is very new-world style with structured and gregarious tannins. It has layered aromas of cassis, vanilla, black fruit and violets leading into luscious and concentrated bright red and black fruit flavors with hints of tea and spice.
Clean, dark-berry aromas are generic as a whole, despite a mild floral note. This feels firm, fresh and well structured. Flavors of berry fruits are textbook and lightly herbal, while the finish feels loamy and smooth, with a peppery flavor.
This sophisticated Felino Malbec carries a deep magenta hue and aromas of dark berries and anise. On the palate, intense, pure flavors of just-picked raspberries, black plum and graphite unfold in velvety layers. Exotic notes of ginger and white pepper carry through the mid-palate to intermingle with firm tannins and notes of cedar on the finish.
Intense deep violet color; clean aromas of black, acid, forest berries and pencil lead, with graphite, black cherry, mocha and spices notes. Up to now, it is probably the "best" and one of the most structured versions of Dona Paula's icon Malbec, keeping intact its elegance, finesse and multilayered expression.
This wine shows the classic varietal fruit qualities of spice and blackberry along with the complements of one-half American oak and one-half French oak barrel aging. The finish is long and has a classic mouth feel, which only the syrah grape can provide.
Intensity of color, rich black and brambly fruits, vanilla bean and roasting coffee aromatics are complimented by remarkable approachability in the 2007 Spellbound Petite Sirah. The wine is crafted to unleash dark and luscious characteristics, while managing tannins to deliver an opulent and juicy Petite Sirah. This lush yet easy drinking wine provides intense berry character, with superb texture you will find in no other Petite Sirah
94 points Rich and expressive, with a luminosity to the cherry and plum fruit, hinting at coffee and bittersweet chocolate as the finish persists. Relentless, and truly opulent. Drink now through 2021.
A larger than life wine for the Super Hero in all of us! A powerful blend of Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Barbera and Forte makes this wine perfect to conquer the end of any day
Made from the young-vine cuvees at Turley, the wine is a sensual, up-front, medium-bodied Zinfandel with dark ruby color, plenty of berry fruit, but some underbrush, pepper, and spice. According to Wine Spectator: "Rustic around the edges, this is lively and zesty, with appealingly briary plum, licorice and spicy underbrush notes.
* 90 points in The Wine Enthusiast!!! The fascinating terroir of oyster fossils, marl and calcareous clay soil has allowed Château Grivière to consistently produce the finest Médoc Cru Bourgeois wines for over 3 centuries.. Château Grivière is vinified in a powerful fruit-forward style, with ripe dark fruits, balanced by a rich, round and chewy palate, with a perfumed nose of orange blossom and delicate spices, and smooth silky tannins. With Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) growing this unique terroir, we are able to produce rich and complex wines with minimal intervention, winning awards and recognition around the world. Our philosophy is somewhat different to many in Bordeaux. In 1990 we built the largest underground cellar in the region, locally known as "The Cathedral", where we have the ability to stock over 10 separate vintages, releasing the wines as the become ready to drink.

Rich layers of apricot, peach, almond and lemon drop are seamlessly integrated with yeasty and floral notes, highlighted by vibrant acidity. This balanced and complex wine is beautiful now but will continue to unfurl over the next several years.
Bright, light yellow. Extremely closed nose hints at lemon, pepper and stone. Tactile on entry, but not yet showing the personality of the regular 2014 village wine. Little easy sweetness to the flavors of citrus peel and wet stone. But rounder in the mid-palate and broader and longer on the aftertaste.
This Chardonnay is quite distinct, with ripe tropical fruit flavors layered with citrus components, vibrant acidity, and the expected minerality characteristic.

Sanford Winery has been producing delicious cool climate Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County since 1981. One of our two estate vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills, Rancho La Rinconada, has been a super-star in producing opulent barrel fermented Chardonnay that is both bursting with tropical and citrus fruits and has an elegant structure of high acidity and minerality. This vineyard is the largest component of our Santa Barbara County blend.
Layers of complex flavors and aromatics Refreshing citrus and layers of fruit Synergistic blend of our favorite Chardonnay vineyards
This wine is a beautiful golden color, with aromas of apples, roasted nuts, toasted coconut and smoky oak. It is very full in the mouth with lots of weight on the palate. The flavors of this wine run towards apples and pears with less of the tropical characteristics normally present.
Fermented in 100% stainless steel. This wine offers tropical and citrus aromas, having a soft creamy mid palate and a delectable crisp finish. It is a our pleasure to share this wine with you in the hope that you can enjoy it with the sister, family or friends in your life.
Fruit forward and not much oak make this an excellent Russian River chardonnay. Citrus, lemon peel and a bit of stone minerality combine with a medium length finish. This is best with a little air time and served not too chilled.
Kali Hart is a pure fruit expression of our vineyard. Named in honor of Robb's youngest daughter. The rich, inviting nose shows bright tropical notes that continue on the palate, where refreshing flavors of pineapple and honeydew are complimented by refreshing acidity. 100% all estate-grown Chardonnay aged primarily in stainless steel with just a touch of French oak.
Chardonnay is originally from France's Burgundy region, where the best white Burgundies are powerful and rich, with complex fruit flavors and notes of earth and minerals. More affordable Chardonnays from Burgundyfor instance, those simply labeled Bourgogne Blancare crisp and lively, with apple and lemon flavors. Chardonnays from America, Australia and Chile tend to be ripe and full-bodied, even buttery, with higher alcohol levels and vanilla notes from oak aging. Recently, however, more and more wine regions have been experimenting with fruity, fresh Chardonnays produced with very little or even no oak aging. Pair Chardonnays in the leaner Burgundian style with roasted chicken or seafood; the more voluptuous New World Chardonnays pair well with pasta dishes made with cream or cheese, with lobster or other rich seafood and with Asian dishes that include coconut milk.
Rober Parker rated 90 points. The 2012 Chardonnay Reserva Especial, from the Tabali vineyards, which has an alluvial, calcareous soil, is barrel-fermented without malolactic. It has a smoky, flinty nose akin to a young Chablis, with notes of flowers and citric fruit. The palate is fresh and vertical, which makes you salivate. It has great acidity, elegance and balance. A superb Chardonnay at a great price."
This focused, elegant Chardonnay's aromas feature tangerine, nectarine & almond. On the palate, the rich flavors are complemented by a light touch of toasty oak and refreshing citrus with bright acidity.
The Antica Napa Valley 2010 Chardonnay is charming for its delicacy, freshness, and finesse. The wine's natural acidity and minerality is wonderfully balanced with enticing flavors of white peach, apricot, apple and pear with subtle oak touches. The finish is elegant, expressive and persistent.
Rich yellow color and becoming more golden with age. Inviting fruit aromas of honeydew, yellow peach and fig are supported by vanilla and caramel. Creamy vanilla integrates with honeysuckle, pineapple and apricot for a fabulous richness on the palate. A luscious mouthfeel leads to a generous and creamy finish. Pleasantly voluptuous from a cooler vintage.
Laguna Winery Russian River Chardonnay shows lots of orange and lemon zest character with buttery shortbread notes and plenty of toasty oak.
Fresh and fruit driven on the nose with ripe citrus and subtle tropical aromas, mineral notes and hint of honey. Sharp and well balanced with a sweet front palate complemented by a nice minerality. Good structure and a lingering acidity.
The 2012 Cycles Gladiator Chardonnay, like its predecessor, is a lovely, fruit-forward style with a subtle use of oak. Light straw in color, it has a fresh and delicate aroma of ripe pear. Crisp and clean on the palate with layers of bright green apple, pear and citrus flavors that are impeccably balanced with nice acidity, a wisp of vanilla and a light, smooth finish.
This wine has that wonderful Santa Barbara tropical fruit aroma with clear elements of pineapple, mango, guava and papaya which turns toward fresh, golden apple and butter cream on the palate. Some of our customers and employees who tasted this wine early in its release thought that there actually is oak present. Not. It is quickly developing a complexity and bouquet that blurs the line between what is naturally there and the illusion of something that is not.
This hand-crafted Chardonnay is produced from vineyards in the heart of the Russian River Valley. It features aromas of ripe apple, sweet baked almond and a hint of pineapple. Flavors of apple, pear and creamy oak contribute to a luscious wine.
Golden-hued in color, this wine opens up with opulent fruit aromas of pineapple, peach, citrus notes and banana. The expression in the mouth is soft, round and elegant with flavors of lemon zest, apple pie, vanilla bean and buttered toast. It has a rich and luscious mouth-feel with bright acidity on the finish.
Winemaker's Notes: Pineapple and minerals show through in the 2013 Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay with some fig, pear and apple mixed throughout. A juicy texture surrounds the fruit, while the vanilla and cedar from the French oak adds another layer of complexity. The creaminess on the palate, which is not a result of malolactic fermentation, but rather a characteristic that is inherent in the ripe fruit itself, carries the fruit into a long, flavorful finish. Wine & Spirits: 91 points
The Chardonnay grapes all come from sustainably farmed, small lot vineyards in the Napa Valley. The 2013 vintage is from several plots on the southern edge of Napa Valley in the Carneros appellation. The wine is exposed to just enough oak to provide a backdrop of vanilla, without being over powering, and then put through secondary fermentation to create a silky smooth creaminess
This Chardonnay is a classic blended from select vineyards in the prestigious Russian River Valley appellation. The growing season in 2014 produced white wines with great aromatics and a bright fresh character. our 2014 Pinot Gris is no exception. It is very aromatic with notes of fresh ripe pear, yellow apple and a pleasant floral/ herbal accent. On the palate it bursts into flavors of ripe honeydew melon with hints of mango overlaying ripe apple/pear character. The long finish is dry, fresh and crisp with a sweet/tart apple essence and distinct mineral qualities.
"This graceful (no pun intended) Pinot Gris shows the beauty of that varietal and is a classic example of it. Clean and fresh, it has wonderful depth and a mouth-coating texture. This is not a light innocuous "Pinot Grigio" style. Rather, it has substance, character and vivacity. It took a Gold Medal at the 2013 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition." 92 Michael Apstein

Pale golden yellow with floral and spice aromas, very textural with a long, slightly smoky finish. Perfectly complements exotic flavours along with fish, chicken or vegetable dish, particularly if you are cooking with Thai or Asian spices, ginger or chilli.
Straw colored with green highlights. Delicate aromas with hints of pear, floral. Dry and full-bodied, discrete aromatic persistence, and a pleasant aftertaste. Perfect for poached or boiled clams, mussels, squid, octopus and grilled fish.

A full bodied wine. Very fresh and with hints of fruit, like appels. Nice with white fish and Salads
Naturally sweet, with delicate peach flavors.
"Always one of the first rosés to hit the market, this traditional S. Rhone blend comes from 25-50 year old vines grown along the Gassac River. It boasts a pleasant, intense nose with hints of strawberries. Full and round on the palate with red fruit flavors."
South African Chenin Blanc is unfortunately often overcropped, resulting in wines that are pleasant, but don't have much character. Not so with this delicious Chenin from A.A. Badenhorst. They kept the gulpability, but the aromas of pear and honeysuckle are textbook Chenin. Its flavors sit somewhere between the refreshing citrus of Sauvignon Blanc and the roundness of Chardonnay, making it the perfect everyday white.
This has purity written all over it, with crisp clean, apple and white peach fruits flavours running alongside a lovely creamy, soft bite to the finish. Just delicious.
Very sweet but crisp not syrupy. Good by itself or with food

Delicious in the mouth with fresh, clean flavors and mineral notes that awaken the taste buds. Perfect with any type of aperitif, this wine is an ideal partner for seafood and fish, as well as salads, rice dishes with fish, cottage cheese, etc.
A pale straw with lime green hue, the Oxford Landing Estates Viognier 2013 has a lifted musk and honeysuckle aroma, with a hint of poached quince and mandarin peel. The wine is richly textural on the palate with classic grainy Viognier minerality complemented perfectly with ripe flavors of late season peaches and apricots. This is great drinking now and with careful cellaring this wine will continue to exhibit these generous Viognier flavors and textures for at least two to three years.
White stone fruit, white peach, apricot, cool and delicious. Think Fuji apple, shiro plum, lime leaves. Focused and a verya long, minerally finish. Kung Fu Girl.....too pure!
The fruit for these wines comes from vineyard parcels that are adjacent to the top sites: Klosterberg, Turmberg and Gräfenberg. The character of this Riesling, like all Robert Weil Rieslings, is defined largely by these mineral-rich soils. The idea behind this estate wine is to produce a full-bodied dry Riesling that shows the class and power of the Rheingau region, but is more affordable than the ultra-classy single-vineyard wines
Dr. Loosen's non-estate wine embodies the elegant and racy style of classic Mosel Riesling. It is refreshing and fruity, with a fine mineral edge that is typical of the region. Dr. L Riesling is made with fruit that comes exclusively from traditional vineyards with steep slopes and slate soil. By working closely with local growers on long-term contract, brothers Ernst and Thomas Loosen are able to maintain excellent quality in every vintage.
Pale gold. Aromatic, with scents of apricot and peach. Fresh fruit flavors perfectly balanced by a racy acidity and mineral character.
Pineapple, lemon, seashell and salt scents carry through on the pure, silky palate. Finishes very long with brilliant acidity, rich citrus fruit flavors, fine minerals and just the slightest touch of almond. Absolutely delicious.
Absolutely outrageous quality and variety expression. It has exceptional texture and floral qualities, with sweet tropical fruit and good balance. This is a viognier drinkers dream.

2013 was considered one of Chile's coolest vintages in the past decade mostly driven by a slow and cool growing season, resulting in a late ripening of the fruit. As a result we obtained elegant wines with vibrant color, fresh fruit aromas, bright acidity and smooth tannins. The Wine: Aromas of ripe red fruit and black pepper are complemented with cassis flavors and hints of spice with a long velvety finish. Winemaker Notes: After destemming, the grapes are cold macerated for 5 days in open top stainless steel tanks and fermented with native yeasts. The wine is then macerated with its skin for another 10 days to achieve smoothness and intensity of flavors. Finally, the wine is racked to neutral oak barrels and aged for 12 months. Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignion
Our Emblem 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, sophisticated and earthy, with concentrated dark berry and cassis aromas, beautifully balanced flavors of dried fruit and currants, and ripe, evolved tannins expressive of Rutherford dust. Great structure and balance, fine tanins, will age for decades.
90 points Wine Spectator!!! 2012 is the inaugural vintage of the Turley Cabernet. The wine has pure, ripe, deeply red Napa Cabernet fruit, rounded out by the savory herbs and garrigue that are the marks of our Estate vineyards. Medium-bodied, with great structure and a solid backbone, which will allow it to age for some time (if you must). However, with its inviting texture and supple, well-integrated tannins, the wine is exceedingly approachable in its youth Pleasant, firm, rich and deftly balanced, this offers a mix of ripe dark berry, cedary oak and black licorice flavors, leading to a long, pure finish that tightens toward the end

92 Points - Robert Parker!!! Wine Advocate The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a much more friendly, supple, fruit-forward style of wine with loads of créme de cassis, plum, licorice and spice. This opulent, full-bodied wine is certainly going to be a big hit with consumers. It is broad, savory and pretty much everything one wants in a delicious Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.
From the Winemaker: "Our 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex and layered expression of California Cabernet. The wine has a dark garnet color and is bursting with fruit even as it is poured. It has a nose of cassis, violets, licorice, allspice and roasting coffee. On the palate, it has an extraordinarily rich attack, a satin texture and an exuberant expression of fruit on the mid-palate that comes from picking grapes at the peak of their ripeness. The wine finishes with notions of savory umami and fruit with a medium tannic grip. Given proper cellaring, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2032." Wine Enthusiast, 91 Points: "It's easy to see why Silver Oak remains so popular with the restaurant crowd. It's made in a more restrained style than many other Napa Cabs. There's plenty of berry and currant fruit as well as oak, but it's accompanied by tobacco and herbs that give the wine an earthiness."
The 2012 BRIO Cabernet Sauvignon is seductive and playful, layered with flavors of red fruits, tobacco, leather and a touch of French oak. With supple tannins and a smooth finish this wine reflects the perfect style of a "second vin" from our premier site high on Pritchard Hill.
The Checkerboard label has, in just one year, become one of the more sought-after wines for collectors and consumers! The property is located on Diamond Mountain, in the western hills of the Napa Valley, and the wines are made by the exceptionally talented Martha McClellan (also of Sloan and Levy & McClellan). What makes the Checkerboard wines rise above others at this price point is the shear intensity, harmony, balance, and individuality, along with that je ne sais quoi. We feel this wine is of the same quality as other superstars like Caymus Special Selection, Continuum, Dalla Valle, Lewis, or even Peter Michael. The Kings Row bottling is a second wine of Checkerboard, but it is important to know that the vineyards are virtually the same as Checkerboard, and the wine is made with the same barrel program, oak treatment and aging. The only difference here is the blend, which is completed after the final blend is finished for Checkerboard. A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, and 3% Petite Verdot, the wine is even more complex and structured than the 2008, very well balanced with black fruit, milk chocolate, oak spice and a ripe, supple, lush texture, finishing with tighter tannins.
The 2012 BRAND Proprietary Blend exhibits aromas of vibrant red fruits and cassis along with overtones of black cherry, violets and forest floor. The entry is smooth with wonderful fruit flavors, a hint of toasty French Oak, and fine tannins. The mouth coating flavors are followed by a smooth long finish. With dark ruby red colors, saturated to the rim, the aromas are dominated by bright black cherry, cola berry, and toasty oak. Other nuances include tobacco, earthiness, and rose water. The entry is big, lush, round, with medium to full body. The evolution is concentrated with impeccable balance and showing excellent middle palate. The finish is long with mouth coating tannins.
The Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark, rich full-bodied wine with great tannic structure and mouth-feel. Aromas of boysenberry and cassis provide a bright fruit foundation to light floral and sweet milk chocolate notes. The palate finds more fullness of flavor in ripe blackberry and dark stone fruit, interwoven with black licorice and cocoa powder. The plush, full mouthfeel finds structure in well-integrated tannins and draws out to a consistent, lengthy finish. The 2008 Cinq Cépages is designed to be accessible now but blended for successful long-term aging.
Inspired by the age-old method of using cuttings from a vineyard to propagate new vines, this new Cabernet-based blend is unique and special. Cuttings combines the richness, complexity and depth of Cabernet with the structure and intensity of Petite Sirah and Syrah, all the while channeling the robust character of Zinfandel. Powerful and structured, the blend evokes notes of ripe black fruit, bing cherry, and mocha. The Wine Advocate - "The 2011 Cuttings, with a whopping 15.4% natural alcohol, is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest mostly Petite Sirah and Syrah as well as a tiny dollop of Zinfandel. Juicy, deep and fruity, it is not complex, but satisfying on a hedonistic level. Medium to full-bodied and well-made, it coats the palate..."
Dark fruits, rich color and savory spices highlight the first impression of this wine. On the palate, it shows brightness with a touch of earthiness, caramel and black pepper. It has good density and richness through the finish.

THIS WINE SCREAMS! A SCREAMING EAGLE PROJECT WINE! 94-96 points Robert Parker!!! A beautiful black/purple color is accompanied by stunning aromas of creme de cassis, graphite, camphor, and incense. It exhibits tremendous intensity, beautiful sweet fruit, full-bodied power as well as purity, and a finish that lasts 45+ seconds. This amazing effort is the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine ever made in the Santa Ynez appellation." (06/08) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby color. Musky cherry and cassis scents are complemented by tobacco, cedar and smoky herbs; this really smells like Bordeaux. Supple red berry, cherry and dark chocolate flavors combine intensity and depth, with fine-grained tannins adding structure. A very elegant and understated wine with excellent finishing clarity and persistence.
95 Points The Wine Advocate. "The stunning 2010 Insignia, which is now in bottle, was made from 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and the rest Merlot and Malbec. 11,060 cases were produced, and it achieved 14.9% natural alcohol. A gorgeously intense bouquet of lead pencil shavings, spring flowers, black currants, blackberries, and subtle smoke and foresty aromas jumps from the glass of this full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine with soft tannins, a multidimensional mouthfeel, and a long, rich finish displaying well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. This beauty is one of the top Insignias produced over recent years."
"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is a plump, radiant wine graced with exquisite red fruit flowers, spices and minerals. It reveals gorgeous fleshiness all the way through to the finish." 92 Points The Wine Advocate
The warm and dry growing season of 2011 produced a later than usual harvest date allowing us to achieve optimum ripeness. The 2011 Checkerboard showcases the rich concentration of our hillside vineyards and yields a consistency of character that increases as the vines continue to mature. There is a lovely finesse to the wines, a complexity of ripe red fruits, spice and dried currants. The underlying power intensifies the mid pallet providing a background of layers that linger far into the finish for a smooth, balance finale. We allowed this wine to age a bit longer in barrel and are pleased with the texture and integration of the tannins that resulted. It is a wine that will bring great enjoyment, with or without extended cellaring, certainly one that will be fun to track as it gains bottle maturity. Winemaker, Martha McClellan The wines have a very rich, ripe, red fruit character with underlying power and concentration. The tannins are sweet and velvety and overall showing beautiful balance and finesse. The lengthy finish shows off the multiple layered structure and incredible depth of the wine. The final blend consists of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon (comprised of seven Cabernet clones) with 1% of each Petit Verdot and Merlot. Once again the number of cases is quite small, just short of 250 of the 2010 Checkerboard.
Robert Parker 99 Points!!! The full-bodied, classically-styled, Bordeaux-like 2008 La Joie's (64.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28.5% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and. 3% Malbec) deep ruby/purple color is followed by gorgeous aromas of black truffles, scorched earth, tobacco leaves, blackberry and cassis liqueur, and notions of minerals as well as acacia flowers. The structure, depth and power of Cabernet Sauvignon is Supported by an artful blend of Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Lushly textured, this wine defines both the beauty and the power of Cabernet Sauvignon Other Notes French for "truth". The wines of Vérité result from a confluence of old world experience and new world fruit. Each is an amalgam of distinct components harvested from small vineyard blocks (micro-crus), resulting in a carefully considered convergence of grape varieties, climate, soil exposition and wine making technique. Vigneron Pierre Seillan refers to this conjunction as droit du sol, "Right of the soil".
Deep ruby/purple to the rim, with notes of graphite, black cherry and black currant liqueur, licorice, and spice box, the wine has silky tannins, full body, a gorgeously layered, rich mouthfeel, and a long finish with moderately high tannins and refreshing acidity. It's a big wine for sure, but it has uncanny elegance, purity, and length

Dark cherries, plums, graphite, cassis and pencil shavings are all woven together in a fabric of notable class and elegance. The 2010 stands out for its exceptional minerality, tension and pure power. Readers will have to be patient. This is a picture perfect rendering of this great Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon vintage. Heady, floral-accented aromas of dark berry preserves, vanilla, mocha and black truffle, with a smoky overtone. Sappy, palate-staining blackberry and cassis flavors are lifted and braced by zesty mineral and spice notes and show excellent clarity. Becomes sweeter with air and finishes with superb energy, focus and persistence, with just a whisper of dusty tannins.
For the past five years we have been making a Cabernet Sauvignon blend called Papillon. The fruit originates from some of Napa Valley's most celebrated appellations including Howell Mountain, Saint Helena, Rutherford, and Oakville. Choice vineyards such as Taplin and Morisoli were once again chosen because of their unique fingerprints. Marked with intensity and grip, we aim to showcase a wine that's as fitting as the label photographed by the renowned Greg Gorman, and hand model Vince Tofanelli - a 3rd generation grape grower and friend. Papillon takes flight upon release with aging potential up to 8 years

Carefully selected from hillside vineyards nestled among the Apennine foothills of the Otrepò Pavese region of Lombardy, Kris Pinot Noir offers a uniquely northern Italian take on this classic varietal. These highly reputed vineyards offer many different microclimates of varying exposures and elevations, each of which contributes a highly distinctive component to the final blend. This is a great value wine that will appeal to both Pinot Noir fans and Italian wine lovers alike. It pairs exceptionally well with speck (the local thick-sliced, cured ham) and Taleggio cheese, and more casual fare such as pasta, pizza or smoked sausages.
winemaker's notes: I choose a selection of Pinot "clones" to enhance complexity, while keeping to the food friendly flavor profile that has always been a hallmark of Davis Bynum: a little lighter, without being lean; a little crisper, without being tart; a little more fruit driven, without being distracting; with a round, soft mouthfeel, and less oak and alcohol than you often find in California Pinot Noirs.
This Pinot Noir's classic flavors of fresh cherries, mushrooms, and spice are framed by rich acidity, delicate texture and powdery tannins. A classic cool-climate Pinot Noir from select Dutton Ranch vineyards in the prestigious Russian River Valley appellation. Made by world-class winemaker Marco DiGuilio. A partnership between two friends, sports commentator Jim Nantz and wine entrepreneur Peter Deutsch.
Sometimes it is really just about the function. The unabashedly unpretentious label, oval with the look of a 'diner' sign on a textured label that almost gives the impression of white denim. White linen, gingham tablecloth, or picnic table, this wine would be equally at ease because, well, it isn't trying to convey some sort of painfully conceived imagery other than 'drink me.' The story is pretty loose as well, the label created by nephews of Joe Briggs, the longtime winemaking mind behind the Castle Rock brand, who had worked with him on Briggs' own label we are told. This is somehow a fresher take on value Pinot Noir and labelled 'California' so that vineyard sourcing doesn't become an issue from vintage to vintage. We think of it in the same vein as labels we have sold in the past like Pinot Project and Poppy (and not just because they all begin with a 'P'), where you've got someone that found some good juice and got it into the bottle for a relatively low price.

Strawberry and cranberry flavors glide across a silky palate, with bright acidity adding poise and dimension, as well as a mouthwatering freshness that makes this wine beautifully drinkable in its youth.

This Pinot Noir offers soft tannins, delicious plum and cherry aromas and flavors, a hint of allspice and an underpinning of the earth itself. Without a doubt, its defining feature is its irresistibly silky, velvety texture. Wine Enthusiast - "The nose is reserved at first, but then offers a mushroomy earthiness alongside fresh raspberry, chopped black sage and olive tapenade. There is a solid blend of tannins, fruit and acid on the palate, like black tea and espresso with berry syrup. "

Located in the heart of the Sacramento River Delta is Sutter Island. On Sutter Island Enver Salman grows some of the finest Petite Sirah Jeff has had the pleasure to make wine from. Enver is the most conscientious grower Jeff knows. Petite Sirah is a risky variety in that if it is rained on it melts. Enver however realizes the added flavor ripe fruit produces and provides Jeff with fully ripened deeply colored and intensely flavored grapes. In 1999 Jeff was impressed with the wine he aged in French oak and so in 2000 he selected 480 gallons to be aged in selected barrels and the result was as Jeff puts it, "The most unique wine I have ever produced. Unique is not always good, but this wine was so tasty that I had to bottle it separately."

A long mellow season with enough heat to polish the grapes and develop the flavors, and no extreme weather events to compromise the valley-wide excellence. Every grape on the estate was picked at optimum ripeness.

93 Points, The Wine Advocate "Gloria has long been one of the most popular wines in America, but I do not believe they have ever made better wines than they have over the last decade, and the 2009 is one of their finest. While this estate is not a classified growth, it certainly performs like one in 2009. A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by an expressive, flamboyant bouquet of black fruits, Christmas spices, licorice and roasted Provencal herbs. Fuller-bodied, more concentrated and extracted than most vintages with soft tannins, its low acidity and a sumptuous, plump style remind me of a modern day version of the 1982 (which is fully mature but still in great shape). The 2009 Gloria is a very smart purchase for those looking to maximize their buying power. In fact, this may be the value of the vintage." 92 Points, Wine Spectator "A serious young wine, crammed with plum cake, blackberry preserves, warm fig confiture and blueberry reduction flavors, all laced with briar and sweet, toasty spice notes and backed by a long, tarry finish. Bin No. 27 should be served at room temperature either alone or with simple, classic last courses and desserts. It is best consumed within two weeks after uncorking.
A superior VS Cognac, fresh lively and smooth flavors. Made exclusively from the grapes of one of the region's best growing areas.
The nose is sweet with honey and vanilla, floral notes and chewy oak, lots of blossom and some spice. The palate is spiced and rich, fruity notes of nectarine with dried apricot and plum, floral and oaked. The finish is on tart fruits and honey.
A fine blend offering incomparable strength, intensity and elegance. Stands out for its texture, complexity and richness. An aromatic floral bouquet, nuanced by spice, and dried fruits leads to a smooth, memorable finish.
Rich and subtle, Hennessy VS is an accomplished cognac of balance and harmony, characterised by a velvety texture and mellow finish.
Strong bouquet of fruits, some hints of honey and more fruits on the nose. The palate and the finish is dominated by woody hints - that's the cask.
Mainly from the Fins Bois region with a bit from and some Cognac from champagne that are aged from 4 to 10 years, which creates a very smooth Cognac.
Courvoisier VSOP is a blend of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne spirits. The grapes come from the Fine Champagne, considered as the finest growth area of Cognac. The bouquet is dominated by some fruity notes, a hint of vanilla, slightly nutty. The finish rather soft for a VSOP.
As for taste, this Cognac boasts only the finest flavors. You are greeted by a noble deep amber color. On the nose there are aromas of delicate flowers, rich fruits and intense spices. On the palate, Louis XIII takes you on a world journey: to China with flavors of lychee and ginger, to Cuba with cigars and cigar box, and Central America with cinnamon.

The Niepoort 1983 has benefited from a second winter to further close up its dense purple colour. On the aroma dark fruits are wonderfully contrasted with slighty green nuances and great finesse. On the palate, medium sweet, which combines well, with a very tight structure. The taste firm tannins and length but with great finesse in evidence.
The finished Icewine is intense, sweet and sumptuous, yet balanced with brilliant acidity, creating a unique sensation on the palate. Renowned for fruit flavours ranging from mango to peach to lychees, Icewine is truly a natural wonder and extreme winemaking at its best, yielding the impressions of tropical tastes wrought from the frigid extremes of the icy Canadian winterscape.
This is a Vintage Character Port which is a blend of Ports which have been aged in wood for four to five years to produce wines of greater complexity than their younger counterparts. A port with attractive, intense fresh fruit aromas and flavours. Premium reserve port of superior age and quality. Vigorous but silky taste. Very consistent bottle to bottle. Decanting is not required. Enjoy for many months.

Glently roasted Hazelnut flavor enhances Kahlua's unique taste profile. The warm, toasted flavor delivers an indulgent edge when mixed as a White Russian or served straight on the rocks.
The liqueur has the captivating color of cognac with radiant yellow and gold highlights. Its lightweight body has the texture of satin and the generous citrus bouquet is laced with the aroma of brandy. The palate is an elegant array of sweet and sour orange flavors followed closely by a lingering cognac finish.
This version of Grand Marnier uses rare Cognac reserves aged up to 50 years. Here, the flavor and scent are closer to Cognac than orange liqueur. Look for a rich topaz color, with heady dried fruit notes as well as a clear hit of juicy orange fruit. It's mellow, mouthwatering, and it seems a shame to mix it.

Smooth and supple on the palate, delicious for sipping after dinner.
Mainly from the Fins Bois region with a bit from and some Cognac from champagne that are aged from 4 to 10 years, which creates a very smooth Cognac.
Brilliant copper color. Caramel, golden raisin, light anise, and other brown spice aromas. A very supple entry leads to a plush dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full bodied palate with buttered caramel, dried apple and pear, and refined spices. Finishes with a toffeed spice fade and a slightly numbing, wave of white pepper. Very nice texture and balanced flavor with a rather hot finish."
